1 Great is Jehovah, and greatly to be praised, in the city of our God, his sacred mountain.2 His situation if beautiful. Mount Zion is the joy of the whole earth. The city of the great King is in the far reaches of the north.3 God is in his citadel. He has made himself known.4 Behold, the kings have assembled. And they passed by together.5 They saw and then they were amazed. They were terrified and they fled in fear.6 Panic seized them there, Anguish, like a woman in childbirth.7 You break the ships of Tarshish using the east wind.8 In the city of Jehovah of Hosts we have seen as we have heard. God will establish the city of God forever.9 We have thought about consideredcompared your loving-kindness, O God, in the midst of your Temple.10 Like according to your name, O God, your praise reaches to the ends of the earth. Your right hand is filled with righteousness.11 May Mount Zion be glad and the cities of Judah rejoice because of your judgments.12 Walk around Zion. Go around it. Count its towers.13 Examine its embankments. Inspect its watchtowers. Then you can tell the next generation,14 This God is our God forever and ever. He will lead us until death.

1 Grande é o Senhor e mui digno de ser louvado, na cidade do nosso Deus, no seu monte santo.2 De bela e alta situação, alegria de toda terra é o monte Sião aos lados do norte, a cidade do grande Rei.3 Nos palácios dela Deus se fez conhecer como alto refúgio.4 Pois eis que os reis conspiraram; juntos vieram chegando.5 Viram-na, e então ficaram maravilhados; ficaram assombrados e se apressaram em fugir.6 Aí se apoderou deles o tremor, sentiram dores como as de uma parturiente.7 Com um vento oriental quebraste as naus de Társis.8 Como temos ouvido, assim vimos na cidade do Senhor dos exércitos, na cidade do nosso Deus; Deus a estabelece para sempre.9 Temos meditado, ó Deus, na tua benignidade no meio do teu templo.10 Como é o teu nome, ó Deus, assim é o teu louvor até os confins da terra; de retidão está cheia a tua destra.11 Alegre-se o monte Sião, regozijem-se as filhas de Judá, por causa dos teus juízos.12 Dai voltas a Sião, ide ao redor dela; contai as suas torres.13 Notai bem os seus antemuros, percorrei os seus palácios, para que tudo narreis à geração seguinte.14 Porque este Deus é o nosso Deus para todo o sempre; ele será nosso guia até a morte.
