1 O God, do not keep silent. Do not keep silent and do not be still, O God.2 For, behold, your enemies are stirred up. Those who hate you have lifted up their heads.3 They conspire with cunning against your people. They plot against your cherished ones.4 They say: »Come and let us destroy them as a nation, that the name of Israel may be remembered no more.«5 For they have come to an agreement united in thought. They form an alliance against you.6 The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; Moab, and the Hagrites;7 Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek; Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre;8 Assyria also is joined with them. They have helped the children of Lot.9 Do to them as you did to Midian, as you did to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the river Kishon10 Who perished at Endor and became as dung for the earth.11 Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb; yes, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna.12 For they said: »Let us take possession Of God's pasturelands.«13 My God, make them like tumbleweed, like chaff before the wind.14 Like the fire that consumes the forest, the flame that sets the mountains on fire,15 pursue them with your tempest and terrify them with your storm.16 Fill their faces with confusion that they may seek your name, Jehovah.17 Let them be disappointed and dismayed forever. Yes, let them be confounded and perish,18 That they may know that you alone, whose name is Jehovah, are the Most High over all the earth.

1 Ó Deus, não guardes silêncio; não te cales nem fiques impassível, ó Deus.2 Pois eis que teus inimigos se alvoroçam, e os que te odeiam levantam a cabeça.3 Astutamente formam conselho contra o teu povo, e conspiram contra os teus protegidos.4 Dizem eles: Vinde, e apaguemo-los para que não sejam nação, nem seja lembrado mais o nome de Israel.5 Pois à uma se conluiam; aliam-se contra ti6 as tendas de Edom e os ismaelitas, Moabe e os hagarenos,7 Gebal, Amom e Amaleque, e a Filístia com os habitantes de tiro.8 Também a Assíria se ligou a eles; eles são o braço forte dos filhos de Ló.9 Faze-lhes como fizeste a Midiã, como a Sísera, como a Jabim junto ao rio Quisom,10 os quais foram destruídos em En-Dor; tornaram-se esterco para a terra.11 Faze aos seus nobres como a Orebe e a Zeebe; e a todos os seus príncipes como a Zebá e a Zalmuna,12 que disseram: Tomemos para nós as pastagens de Deus.13 Deus meu, faze-os como um turbilhão de pó, como a palha diante do vento.14 Como o fogo queima um bosque, e como a chama incedeia as montanhas,15 assim persegue-os com a tua tempestade, e assombra-os com o teu furacão.16 Cobre-lhes o rosto de confusão, de modo que busquem o teu nome, Senhor.17 Sejam envergonhados e conturbados perpetuamente; sejam confundidos, e pereçam,18 para que saibam que só tu, cujo nome é o Senhor, és o Altíssimo sobre toda a terra.
