1 Praise Jehovah! It is good to sing praise to our God. It is pleasant to sing his praise beautifully.2 Jehovah is the builder of Jerusalem. He is the one who gathers the outcasts of Israel together.3 He is the healer of the brokenhearted. He is the one who bandages their wounds.4 He determines the number of stars. He gives each one a name.5 Our Lord is great, and his power is great. There is no limit to his understanding.6 Jehovah gives relief to those who are oppressed. He brings wicked people down to the ground.7 Sing to Jehovah a song of thanksgiving. Make music to our God with a harp.8 He covers the sky with clouds. He provides rain for the ground. He makes grass grow on the mountains.9 He is the one who gives food to animals and to young ravens when they call out.10 He finds no joy in strong horses, nor do brave soldiers please him.11 Jehovah is pleased with those who fear him, with those who wait with hope for his mercy.12 Praise Jehovah, Jerusalem! Praise your God, Zion!13 He makes the bars across your gates strong. He blesses the children within you.14 He is the one who brings peace to your borders and satisfies your hunger with the finest wheat.15 He is the one who sends his promise throughout the earth. His word travels with great speed.16 He is the one who sends snow like wool and scatters frost like ashes.17 He is the one who throws his hailstones like breadcrumbs. Who can withstand his chilling blast?18 He sends out his word and melts his hailstones. He makes wind blow and water flow.19 He speaks his word to Jacob, his laws and judgments to Israel.20 He has done nothing like this for any other nation. The other nations do not know the decisions he has handed down. Praise Jehovah!

1 Louvai ao Senhor; porque é bom cantar louvores ao nosso Deus; pois isso é agradável, e decoroso é o louvor.2 O Senhor edifica Jerusalém, congrega os dispersos de Israel;3 sara os quebrantados de coração, e cura-lhes as feridas;4 conta o número das estrelas, chamando-as a todas pelos seus nomes.5 Grande é o nosso Senhor, e de grande poder; não há limite ao seu entendimento.6 O Senhor eleva os humildes, e humilha os perversos até a terra.7 Cantai ao Senhor em ação de graças; com a harpa cantai louvores ao nosso Deus.8 Ele é que cobre o céu de nuvens, que prepara a chuva para a terra, e que faz produzir erva sobre os montes;9 que dá aos animais o seu alimento, e aos filhos dos corvos quando clamam.10 Não se deleita na força do cavalo, nem se compraz nas pernas do homem.11 O Senhor se compraz nos que o temem, nos que esperam na sua benignidade.12 Louva, ó Jerusalém, ao Senhor; louva, ó Sião, ao teu Deus.13 Porque ele fortalece as trancas das tuas portas; abençoa aos teus filhos dentro de ti.14 Ele é quem estabelece a paz nas tuas fronteiras; quem do mais fino trigo te farta;15 quem envia o seu mandamento pela terra; a sua palavra corre mui velozmente.16 Ele dá a neve como lã, esparge a geada como cinza,17 e lança o seu gelo em pedaços; quem pode resistir ao seu frio?18 Manda a sua palavra, e os derrete; faz soprar o vento, e correm as águas;19 ele revela a sua palavra a Jacó, os seus estatutos e as suas ordenanças a Israel.20 Não fez assim a nenhuma das outras nações; e, quanto às suas ordenanças, elas não as conhecem.
