1 Elevo os meus olhos
para os montes:
de onde me virá o socorro?
2 O meu socorro vem do Senhor,
que fez o céu e a terra.
3 Ele não permitirá
que os seus pés vacilem;
não dormitará
aquele que guarda você.
4 É certo que não dormita,
nem dorme
o guarda de Israel.
5 O Senhor é quem guarda você;
o Senhor é a sombra à sua direita.
6 De dia não lhe fará mal o sol,
nem de noite, a lua.
7 O Senhor guardará você
de todo mal;
guardará a sua alma.
8 O Senhor guardará a sua saída
e a sua entrada,
desde agora e para sempre.
1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains — where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot slip — he who watches over you will not slumber;
4 indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The LORD watches over you — the LORD is your shade at your right hand;
6 the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.
7 The LORD will keep you from all harm — he will watch over your life;
8 the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
