2 Porque em breve serão cortados como a erva; murcharão, ficarão sem vida.3 Mas tu, confia no Senhor e faz o bem. Viverás seguro aqui na terrae terás o teu alimento garantido.4 Alegra-te no Senhor,e ele dará o que deseja o teu coração.5 Entrega ao Senhor tudo o que fizeres. Confia nele e ele te ajudará em tudo.6 Tornará evidente a tua inocência perante toda a gente,tal como a luz do dia que todos vêem. A tua justiça brilhará como o Sol em pleno dia.8 Não te indignes; deixa a zanga. Se te irritares, será só para teu prejuízo.9 Porque os que fazem o mal não deixarão de ser destruídos. Mas os que confiam no Senhor receberão todas as bênçãos.10 Só mais um tempo e os maus desaparecerão. Quando fores perguntar por eles, já não existirão.11 Contudo, todos os que se submetem ao Senhorterão todas as suas bênçãos,e gozarão da abundância da paz de Deus.13 O Senhor se rirá deles, pois sabe bem como está perto o momento em que serão julgados.14 Armaram-se, com o propósito firmede assassinarem o pobre, o necessitado,e de tirarem a vida aos que andam com justiça.15 Mas as suas armas,ou se voltarão contra eles mesmos, atravessando-lhes o coração,ou se encravarão e serão desfeitas.16 Vale mais o pouco daquele que anda na justiça de Deus,do que toda a fortuna dos que rejeitam o Senhor.17 A força dos maus será quebrada,mas o Senhor sustém aqueles que ele perdoou.18 O Senhor conhece bem tudoo que, dia a dia, fazem os que andam na rectidão,e lhes dará uma recompensa eterna.19 Não deixará que fiquem prejudicados nos tempos de dificuldades; mesmo nos tempos de crise e de fome, eles terão o suficiente.20 Mas os maus morrerão; esses inimigos de Deus serão como a gordura ao fogo:desaparecerão em fumaça.21 Os que vivem sem Deus, pedem emprestadoe ficam sempre a dever; mas os que seguem a justiça de Deusnão só pagam o que devem,como até dão sem recompensa.22 Aqueles que o Senhor abençoa possuirão a terra; mas os que o Senhor tem de amaldiçoar desaparecerão daqui.23 Os passos dos homens rectos são dirigidos pelo Senhor,o qual tem prazer nas suas vidas.24 Se caírem, isso não será fatal,porque o Senhor os sustenta com a mão.25 Já fui moço, e agora estou velho, mas nunca na minha vida vi o Senhor abandonar aqueles que o amam,nem os seus filhos passarem fome.26 Pelo contrário, têm pena e emprestam aos que precisam, são generosos;e os seus filhos são felizes.27 Afasta-te do mal, pratica o bem,e viverás para sempre.28 Porque o Senhor ama a justiçae nunca abandonará o seu povo. Eles serão guardados em segurança para sempre. Mas os descrentes, e os seus descendentes morrerão.29 Os que seguem a justiça de Deusserão plantados firmemente na terra,e nela habitarão para sempre.30 A boca dos que seguem Deus fala com a sabedoria,distinguindo o certo do errado.31 A lei de Deus está nos seus corações; os seus passos serão sempre direitos.32 Os maus espiam os que são de Deus,procurando acusá-los e matá-los.33 Mas o Senhor não deixará os seus filhos caírem nas mãos deles; quando forem julgados, não serão condenados.34 Espera no Senhor e mantém-te firme no seu caminho. Ele te levantará para te dar a posse das suas bênçãos,e verás os maus destruídos.35 Eu vi realmente os homens sem Deus espalharem-see multiplicarem-se como certas plantas no clima que lhes é próprio,e o seu poder crescer e confirmar-se.36 Mas passado um tempo vi que já tinham deixado de existir; procurei-os, mas não pude encontrá-los.37 Mas repara no que anda sinceramente com Deus,e que pratica o que é recto; para esse, o futuro da sua vida será feliz, será de paz.38 Os que transgridem as leis divinas serão destruídos, e a sua descendência será liquidada.

1 A Psalm of David. Fret not thyself because of evil doers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he will give thee the desires of thy heart.5 Commit thy way to the LORD; trust also in him; and he will bring it to pass.6 And he will bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noon-day.7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.9 For evil doers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.10 For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yes, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.11 But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.12 The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth.13 The Lord will laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming.14 The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as are of upright deportment.15 Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.16 A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the LORD upholdeth the righteous.18 The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever.19 They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.20 But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.21 The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous showeth mercy, and giveth.22 For such as are blessed by him shall inherit the earth; and they that are cursed by him shall be cut off.23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.24 Though he should fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.25 I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.26 He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed.27 Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.28 For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.29 The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.30 The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.31 The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.32 The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him.33 The LORD will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.34 Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he will exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.35 I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree.36 Yet he passed away, and lo, he was not: yes, I sought him, but he could not be found.37 Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.38 But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off.39 But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble.40 And the LORD will help them, and deliver them: he will deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.
