2 Sim, responde o Senhor, e quando chegar a altura, no lugar que for determinado, hei-de julgar todos, com toda a justiça.3 Ainda que a Terra trema e os seus habitantes vivam na confusão, contudo eu a mantenho firmemente.4 Disse aos orgulhosos: 'Parem com a loucura da vossa arrogância!' E aos perversos: 'Não levantem a cabeça com insolência! Acabem com a vossa atitude altiva. Não continuem nessa dura obstinação'.6 Porque o progresso e o poder não vêm de parte nenhuma da Terra; nem do Oriente, nem do Ocidente; vêm só de Deus.7 Deus é perfeito juiz: ele sabe bem quem deve honrar e quem deve submeter.8 O Senhor tem na mão uma taça de vinho, de vinho amargo e fermentado. Certamente que toda a gente má, que tem rejeitado Deus na terra, o beberá, até à última gota.9 Mas, quanto a mim, hei-de espalhar para sempre, cantando louvores ao Deus de Jacob.10 Acabarei com o poder dos homens perversos, diz o Senhor, mas aumentarei a força dos que seguem a justiça.
