3 Deus mesmo, na sua morada sublime, é conhecido como seu refúgio bem seguro.4 Os governantes da terra chegaram juntos para visitar a cidade.5 Ficaram maravilhados com o que viram e voltaram a correr para as suas terras, cheios de espanto.6 Ficaram mesmo cheios de apreensão e medo, tal como uma mulher que está prestes a dar à luz.7 Deus pareceu-lhes como uma rajada de vento que destrói os mais poderosos navios de guerra!8 Já tínhamos ouvido falar na excelência dessa cidade, a cidade do nosso Deus, o chefe dos exércitos do céu. Mas agora vemos por nós mesmos! Deus firmou Jerusalém para sempre.9 Senhor, aqui no teu templo meditamos sobre a tua bondade, o teu amor.10 O teu nome é conhecido em toda a Terra. Por isso também és louvado por toda a parte, porque a tua mão exerce a justiça plenamente sobre o mundo inteiro.11 Que Jerusalém se alegre! E também o povo de Judá! Por causa da justiça com que Deus vos trata.12 Vão, observem bem a cidade! Andem à sua volta, contem todas as torres!13 Vejam bem as muralhas, visitem os seus palácios, para que possam depois contar tudo às gerações vindouras!14 Porque este Deus é o nosso Deus para sempre. Ele será o nosso guia até morrermos.
