2 para que possa assim julgar justamente o teu povo, e fazer justiça aos pobres.3 As montanhas e as colinas florescerão prosperamente por causa do seu bom reinado de paz e rectidão.4 Ele defenderá os oprimidos e os necessitados e tirará a força ao opressor.5 E te respeitarão, ó Deus, sempre aqui na Terra, enquanto o Sol e a Lua permanecerem no firmamento!6 Durante o seu reinado haverá prosperidade, pelas chuvas caindo sobre a relva e regando a terra.7 E os que procuram a justiça prosperarão, e haverá abundância de paz sempre.8 Ele dominará de mar a mar, e desde o rio até aos confins da Terra.9 Os nómadas, que habitam no deserto, ser-lhe-ão sujeitos, os seus inimigos cairão por terra na sua frente.10 Os reis de Tarsis e os das ilhas, assim como os de Sabá e de Seba todos trarão os seus presentes.11 Sim, os reis de toda a parte se inclinarão perante ele e o servirão.12 Ele cuidará dos necessitados quando o procurarem, assim como dos desamparados que não têm ninguém que os ajude.13 Terá compaixão dos pobres e dos aflitos e os salvará.14 Libertará as suas almas da opressão e da violência, pois as suas vidas são-lhe preciosas.15 E terá uma longa vida. Hão-de trazer-lhe o ouro de Sabá. Todos os dias se farão orações a Deus por ele, e o povo constantemente dirá o bem a seu respeito.16 Toda a terra será extremamente fértil, e até no cimo dos montes se colherá o trigo. Produzirá fruto igual ao do Líbano. Mas também a vida das cidades prosperará.17 O seu nome será honrado para sempre; enquanto durar o Sol será assim: todos o respeitarão, de pais para filhos; as gentes serão abençoados por Deus, por causa dele. E todas as nações o louvarão.18 Bendito seja o Senhor Deus, o Deus de Israel, o único que faz coisas maravilhosas.19 Bendito seja para sempre o seu nome glorioso. 1 A Psalm for Solomon.
