2 Toquem melodias de louvor com a harpa, com a lira.3 Cantem-lhe cantos novos; Executem bem e com alegria.4 Porque a palavra do Senhor é a verdade. Tudo o que ele faz é digno de confiança.5 Deus ama a justiça e a rectidão. A Terra está cheia de provas do seu amor.6 Foi pela palavra do Senhor que os céus foram feitos; tudo o que está no universo foi criadopor força daquilo que saiu da sua boca.7 Ele pôs um limite aos oceanos,mantendo-os nos seus fundos reservatórios.8 Que o mundo inteiro, e os seus moradores,temam o Senhor e lhe tenham reverência.9 Porque falou e tudo se criou. Mandou e logo tudo apareceu.10 O Senhor desfaz os planos das naçõesque se revoltam contra ele; anula as suas intenções.11 Mas o seu próprio plano permanece para sempre. Os seus pensamentos são os mesmos em todas as gerações.12 Feliz é a nação cujo Deus é o Senhor,cujo povo ele escolheu para ser seu.15 Foi ele quem fez o coração das pessoas,e examina de perto tudo o que fazem.16 Não há exército, por mais bem armado que esteja,que possa garantir a salvação até de um chefe de estado. O ter muita força não livra ninguém.17 Um cavalo de guerra vale muito pouco para proteger um indivíduo.18 Mas os olhos do Senhor estão sobre os que o temem e amam,sobre os que esperam na sua misericórdia,19 para os livrar da morte,e conservar vivos nos tempos de necessidade.20 A nossa alma espera pela ajuda do Senhor. Ele é o nosso auxílio e nos protege como um escudo.21 Não é de admirar que estejamos alegres,pois que confiamos no Senhore na força do seu santo nome.

1 Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright.2 Praise the LORD with harp: sing to him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings.3 Sing to him a new song; play skillfully with a loud noise.4 For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth.5 He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the LORD.6 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.7 He gathereth the waters of the sea together as a heap: he layeth up the depth in store-houses.8 Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.9 For he spoke, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.10 The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to naught: he maketh the devices of the people of no effect.11 The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.13 The LORD looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men.14 From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth.15 He fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all their works.16 There is no king saved by the multitude of a host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.17 A horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength.18 Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;19 To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.20 Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield.21 For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.22 Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.
