1 How long will You forget me, O Jehovah? Forever? How long will You hide Your face from me?

2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my inner being daily? How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?

3 Consider and answer me, O Jehovah my God; enlighten my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;

4 lest my enemy say, I have prevailed against him, and those who oppress me rejoice when I am shaken.

5 But I have trusted in Your mercy; my heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.

6 I will sing to Jehovah, because He has dealt bountifully with me.

1 ATÉ quando te esquecerás de mim, Senhor? para sempre? Até quando esconderás de mim o teu rosto? 2 Até quando consultarei com a minha alma, tendo tristeza no meu coração cada dia? Até quando se exaltará sobre mim o meu inimigo? 3 Atenta em mim, ouve-me, ó Senhor meu Deus; alumia os meus olhos para que eu não adormeça na morte; 4 Para que o meu inimigo não diga: Prevaleci contra ele; e os meus adversários se não alegrem, vindo eu a vacilar. 5 Mas eu confio na tua benignidade: na tua salvação meu coração se alegrará. 6 Cantarei ao Senhor, porquanto me tem feito muito bem.
