1 Hear my voice, O God, in my meditation; preserve my life from fear of the enemy.

2 Hide me from the counsel of the wicked, from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity,

3 who sharpen their tongue like a sword. They have bent their bows to shoot their arrows; even bitter words,

4 so that they may shoot at the perfect one from a hiding place; suddenly they shoot at him and do not fear.

5 They encourage themselves in an evil plan; they talk of laying snares secretly; they say, Who shall see them?

6 They devise injustice; they have finished searching out a plot. Yea, the inward part of man and the heart are unfathomable.

7 But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly they shall be wounded.

8 So they shall stumble over their own tongues; everyone who sees them shall flee away.

9 And all men shall fear, and shall declare the work of God; for they shall prudently comprehend His works.

10 The righteous shall be glad in Jehovah, and shall trust in Him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.

1 OUVE, ó Deus, a minha voz na minha oração: livra a minha vida do horror do inimigo. 2 Esconde-me do secreto conselho dos maus, e do tumulto dos que praticam a iniquidade. 3 Os quais afiaram as suas línguas como espadas; e armaram por suas frechas palavras amargas, 4 Para de lugares ocultos atirarem sobre o que é reto; disparam sobre ele repentinamente, e não temem. 5 Firmam-se em mau intento; falam de armar laços secretamente, e dizem: Quem os verá? 6 Fazem indagações maliciosas, inquirem tudo o que se pode inquirir; até o íntimo de cada um, e o profundo coração. 7 Mas Deus disparará sobre eles uma seta, e de repente ficarão feridos. 8 Assim eles farão com que as suas línguas se voltem contra si mesmos; todos aqueles que os virem, fugirão. 9 E todos os homens temerão, e anunciarão a obra de Deus; e considerarão prudentemente os seus feitos. 10 O justo se alegrará no Senhor, e confiará nele, e todos os retos de coração se regozijarão.
