A Psalm: a Song.] Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered, and let them that hate him flee before him.2 As smoke is driven, thou wilt drive them away; as wax melteth before the fire, the wicked shall perish at the presence of God.3 But the righteous shall rejoice: they shall exult before God and be glad with joy.4 Sing unto God, sing forth his name; cast up a way for him that rideth in the deserts: his name is Jah; and rejoice before him.5 A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.6 God maketh the solitary into families; those that were bound he bringeth out into prosperity: but the rebellious dwell in a parched {land}.7 O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people, when thou didst march through the wilderness-(Selah) -8 The earth trembled, the heavens also dropped at the presence of God, yon Sinai, at the presence of God, the God of Israel.9 Thou, O God, didst pour a plentiful rain upon thine inheritance, and when it was weary thou strengthenedst it.10 Thy flock hath dwelt therein: thou hast prepared in thy goodness, for the afflicted, O God!11 The Lord gives the word: great the host of the publishers.12 Kings of armies flee; they flee, and she that tarrieth at home divideth the spoil.13 Though ye have lain among the sheepfolds, {ye shall be as} wings of a dove covered with silver, and her feathers with green gold.14 When the Almighty scattered kings in it, it became snow-white as Zalmon.15 {As} mount Bashan is the mount of God, a many-peaked mountain, {as} mount Bashan.16 Why do ye look with envy, ye many-peaked mountains, upon the mount that God hath desired for his abode? yea, Jehovah will dwell {there} for ever.17 The chariots of God are twenty thousand, thousands upon thousands; the Lord is among them: it is a Sinai in holiness.18 Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts in Man, and even {for} the rebellious, for the dwelling {there} of Jah Elohim.19 Blessed be the Lord: day by day doth he load us {with good}, the *God who is our salvation. Selah.20 Our *God is the *God of salvation; and with Jehovah, the Lord, are the goings forth {even} from death.21 Verily God will smite the head of his enemies, the hairy scalp of him that goeth on still in his trespasses.22 The Lord said, I will bring again from Bashan, I will bring {them} again from the depth of the sea;23 That thou mayest dip thy foot in blood: the tongue of thy dogs has its portion from enemies.24 They have seen thy goings, O God, the goings of my *God, my King, in the sanctuary.25 The singers went before, the players on stringed instruments after, in the midst of maidens playing on tabrets.26 In the congregations bless ye God, the Lord, -{ye} from the fountain of Israel.27 There is little Benjamin, their ruler; the princes of Judah, their company; the princes of Zebulun, the princes of Naphtali.28 Thy God hath commanded thy strength: strengthen, O God, that which thou hast wrought for us.29 Because of thy temple at Jerusalem shall kings bring presents unto thee.30 Rebuke the beast of the reeds, the assembly of the strong, with the calves of the peoples: {every one} submitteth himself with pieces of silver. Scatter the peoples that delight in war.31 Great ones shall come out of Egypt; Ethiopia shall quickly stretch out her hands unto God.32 Ye kingdoms of the earth, sing unto God; sing psalms of the Lord, (Selah,)33 Of him that rideth upon the heavens, the heavens which are of old: lo, he uttereth his voice, a mighty voice.34 Ascribe ye strength unto God: his excellency is over Israel, and his strength is in the clouds.35 Terrible art thou, O God, out of thy sanctuaries, -the *God of Israel! He it is that giveth strength and might unto the people. Blessed be God!

'n Lied.2 God staan op, sy vyande raak verstrooid, en sy haters vlug voor sy aangesig weg!3 Soos rook verdryf word, verdryf U hulle; soos was smelt voor die vuur, vergaan die goddelose voor die aangesig van God.4 Maar die regverdiges is bly, hulle juig voor die aangesig van God, en hulle is vrolik met blydskap.5 Sing tot eer van God, psalmsing tot eer van sy Naam, vul die pad op vir Hom wat deur die woestynvlaktes ry: HERE is sy Naam; en jubel voor sy aangesig!6 'n Vader van die wese en 'n regter van die weduwees is God in sy heilige woning.7 God laat die eensames woon in 'n huisgesin, Hy lei die gevangenes uit in voorspoed; maar die wederstrewiges woon in 'n dor land.8 o God, toe U uitgetrek het voor u volk, toe U voortgestap het in die wildernis, Sela,9 het die aarde gebewe! Ook het die hemele gedrup voor die aangesig van God; hierdie Sinai voor die aangesig van God, die God van Israel!10 Met 'n milde reën het U, o God, u erfdeel besproei; en toe dit moeg was, het U dit versterk.11 U skare het daarin gewoon; U het dit in u goedheid berei vir die ellendige, o God!12 Die Here het die woord laat hoor -- die vroue wat die goeie tyding gebring het, was 'n groot skare:13 Die konings van die leërskare vlug, hulle vlug; en sy wat tuis gebly het, verdeel die buit.14 As julle daar lê tussen die veekrale, is die vlerke van die duif oordek met silwer en sy vleuels met liggroen goud.15 Toe die Almagtige konings daarin verstrooi het, het dit gesneeu op Salmon.16 'n Berg van God is die berg Basan, 'n berg met toppe is die berg Basan.17 Waarom kyk julle afgunstig, o berge met toppe, na die berg wat God begeer het vir sy woning? Ja, die HERE sal daar woon tot in ewigheid.18 Die waens van God is tien duisende, duisend maal duisende; die Here is onder hulle; dit is Sinai in heiligheid.19 U het opgeklim na die hoogte, U het gevangenes weggevoer, U het geskenke geneem onder die mense; ja, ook wederstrewiges om daar te woon, o HERE God!20 Geloofd sy die Here! Dag n dag dra Hy ons; God is ons heil! Sela.21 God is vir ons 'n God van verlossinge, en die HERE Here het uitkomste teen die dood.22 Gewis, God sal die kop van sy vyande verbrysel, die harige skedel van hom wat in sy sondeskuld rondwandel.23 Die Here het gesê: Ek sal terugbring uit Basan, Ek sal terugbring uit die dieptes van die see;24 sodat jy jou voet kan steek in bloed, die tong van jou honde van die vyande sy deel kan hê.25 o God, hulle sien u optogte, die optogte van my God, my Koning in die heiligdom.26 Vooraan gaan die sangers, daaragter die snaarspelers, tussen jongmeisies in wat die tamboeryn slaan.27 Loof God, die Here, in die vergaderinge, julle wat is uit die fontein van Israel!28 Daar is Benjamin, die kleinste, wat oor hulle geheers het; die vorste van Juda -- hulle menigte; die vorste van S,bulon, die vorste van N ftali.29 Jou God het jou sterkte gebied: betoon U sterk, o God, wat vir ons gewerk het!30 Ter wille van u tempel in Jerusalem sal die konings aan U geskenke bring.31 Dreig die wilde gedierte van die riet -- die trop stiere saam met die kalwers van die volke -- die wat hulleself onderwerp met stukke silwer. Hy het die volke verstrooi wat lus het in oorloë.32 Edeles sal uit Egipte kom, Kus sal haastig sy hande uitsteek na God.33 o Koninkryke van die aarde, sing tot eer van God; psalmsing tot eer van die Here! Sela.34 Van Hom wat ry in die hoogste hemele, wat uit die voortyd is; kyk, Hy verhef sy stem, 'n magtige stem.35 Gee sterkte aan God! Sy hoogheid is oor Israel en sy sterkte in die wolke.
