Of David. 2 \6:1\O Lord, do not be bitter with me in your wrath; do not send punishment on me in the heat of your passion.3 \6:2\Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am wasted away: make me well, for even my bones are troubled.4 \6:3\My soul is in bitter trouble; and you, O Lord, how long?5 \6:4\Come back, O Lord, make my soul free; O give me salvation because of your mercy.6 \6:5\For in death there is no memory of you; in the underworld who will give you praise?7 \6:6\The voice of my sorrow is a weariness to me; all the night I make my bed wet with weeping; it is watered by the drops flowing from my eyes.8 \6:7\My eyes are wasting away with trouble; they are becoming old because of all those who are against me.9 \6:8\Go from me, all you workers of evil; for the Lord has given ear to the voice of my weeping.10 \6:9\The Lord has given ear to my request; the Lord has let my prayer come before him.11 \6:10\Let all those who are against me be shamed and deeply troubled; let them be turned back and suddenly put to shame.

Éternel, ne me reprends pas dans ton indignation, et ne me châtie pas dans ta colère.2 Aie pitié de moi, Éternel! car je suis sans force; Éternel, guéris-moi, car mes os sont tremblants.3 Mon âme aussi est fort troublée; et toi, Éternel, jusqu'à quand?4 Reviens, Éternel, délivre mon âme; sauve-moi pour l'amour de ta bonté!5 Car dans la mort on ne se souvient point de toi; qui te célébrera dans le Sépulcre?6 Je m'épuise à gémir; chaque nuit je baigne ma couche de pleurs, je trempe mon lit de mes larmes.7 Mon visage est tout défait de chagrin; il dépérit à cause de tous mes ennemis.8 Éloignez-vous de moi, vous tous, ouvriers d'iniquité! Car l'Éternel a entendu la voix de mes pleurs.9 L'Éternel a entendu ma supplication, l'Éternel reçoit ma prière.10 Tous mes ennemis seront confus et saisis d'effroi; ils reculeront, ils seront soudain couverts de honte.
