1 O Senhor Deus é grande
e merece ser louvado na sua cidade,
em Sião, o seu monte santo.
2 O monte de Deus é alto e bonito;
a cidade do grande Rei é a alegria
do mundo inteiro.
3 Deus tem mostrado que ele
dá segurança ao povo
dentro das fortalezas da cidade.
4 Os reis se reuniram
e juntos vieram atacar o monte Sião.
5 Porém, quando viram a cidade,
ficaram espantados
e fugiram com medo.
6 Eles ficaram apavorados e aflitos
como a mulher que está
com dores de parto,
7 como marinheiros em grandes navios
sacudidos numa tempestade violenta.
8 Temos ouvido falar das coisas
que o Senhor Deus tem feito
e agora vimos o que aconteceu
na cidade do nosso Deus,
o Senhor Todo-Poderoso.
Ele guardará a cidade em segurança
para sempre.
9 No teu Templo, ó Deus,
ficamos pensando no teu amor.
10 Tu és louvado por todos os povos,
e a tua fama se espalha
pelo mundo inteiro,
pois tu governas com justiça.
11 Alegre-se, povo de Jerusalém!
Ó Deus, os teus julgamentos são justos!
Alegrem-se com isso,
moradores das cidades de Judá!
12 Povo de Deus, ande em volta
de Jerusalém
e conte as suas torres!
13 Olhem todos com atenção
as suas muralhas
e examinem as suas fortalezas.
Assim vocês poderão dizer
aos seus descendentes:
14 "Este Deus é o nosso Deus
para sempre.
Ele nos guiará eternamente."
1 A Song [and] Psalm for the sons of Korah. Great [is] the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, [in] the mountain of his holiness.
2 Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, [is] mount Zion, [on] the sides of the north, the city of the great King.
3 God is known in her palaces for a refuge.
4 For, behold, the kings were assembled, they passed by together.
5 They saw [it], [and] so they marvelled; they were troubled [and] hasted away.
6 Fear took hold upon them there [and] pain as of a woman in travail.
7 Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish with an east wind.
8 As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the LORD of the hosts, in the city of our God; God will establish it for ever. Selah.
9 We have conceived according to thy mercy, O God, in the midst of thy temple.
10 According to thy name, O God, so [is] thy praise unto the ends of the earth; thy right hand is full of righteousness.
11 Let mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah be glad because of thy judgments.
12 Walk about Zion and go round about her; tell the towers thereof.
13 Mark ye well her bulwarks, consider her palaces that ye may tell [it] to the generation following.
14 For this God [is] our God eternally and for ever; he will be our guide [even] unto death.:
