1 Ó Senhor Deus, até quando

esquecerás de mim?

Será para sempre?

Por quanto tempo esconderás de mim

o teu rosto?

2 Até quando terei de suportar

este sofrimento?

Até quando o meu coração se encherá

dia e noite de tristeza?

Até quando os meus inimigos

me vencerão?

3 Ó Senhor, meu Deus,

olha para mim e responde-me!

Dá-me forças novamente

para que eu não morra.

4 Assim os meus inimigos não poderão

se alegrar com a minha desgraça,

nem poderão dizer:

"Nós o derrotamos!"

5 Eu confio no teu amor.

O meu coração ficará alegre,

pois tu me salvarás.

6 E, porque tens sido bom para mim,

cantarei hinos a ti, ó Senhor.

2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul, Having sorrow in my heart all the day? How long will my enemy be exalted over me?

3 Consider [and] answer me, O Yahweh my God: Lighten my eyes, or else I will sleep the [sleep of] death;

4 Or else my enemy will say, I have prevailed against him; [and] my adversaries will rejoice when I am moved.

5 But I have trusted in your loving-kindness; My heart will rejoice in your salvation.

6 I will sing to Yahweh, Because he has dealt bountifully with me.
