Davi roga a Deus o castigo dos adversários

2 Porque eles abrem contra mim *Sl 10.7;52.4boca iníqua e cheia de dolo;

contra mim falam com *Sl 120.2língua mentirosa.

3 Cercam-me também com palavras de ódio

e, *Sl 69.4sem causa, fazem-me guerra.

4 *Sl 38.20Em troca do meu amor, tornam-se os meus adversários.

6 Coloca sobre ele um homem perverso,

esbulhem-no *Is 1.7;Lm 5.2;Ez 7.21estranhos do fruto do seu trabalho.

12 Não haja quem lhe *Ed 7.28;9.9estenda benignidade,

nem haja quem *Jó 5.4;Is 9.17se compadeça de seus órfãos

13 Seja extirpada *Sl 21.10;37.28a sua posteridade;

na próxima geração, *Sl 9.5;Pv 10.7apague-se o seu nome.

14 Seja recordada por Jeová *Êx 20.5;Nm 14.18;Is 65.6-7;Jr 32.18a iniquidade de seus pais,

e não *Ne 4.5;Jr 18.23seja apagado o pecado de sua mãe.

15 *Sl 90.8;Jr 16.17Estejam eles sempre diante de Jeová,

para que ele *Sl 34.16faça desaparecer da terra a memória deles;

16 porquanto não se lembrou de usar de benignidade,

*Sl 37.14mas perseguiu ao aflito, e ao necessitado

e ao de ânimo abatido, para *Sl 37.32;94.6lhes tirar a vida.

17 Ele amou a maldição, e *Pv 14.14;Ez 35.9;Mt 7.2ela veio ter com ele;

não teve prazer na bênção, e ela se apartou dele.

e, nos seus ossos, como azeite.

e como o cinto com que sempre anda cingido.

20 Da parte de Jeová, é esta a *Sl 54.5;94.23;Is 3.11;2Tm 4.14recompensa dos meus adversários

e daqueles que *Sl 41.5;71.10falam mal contra a minha alma.

21 Mas tu, Jeová Senhor, toma a minha parte *Sl 23.3;25.11;79.9;106.8;Ez 36.22por amor do teu nome;

pois que é boa *Sl 69.16a tua benignidade, livra-me.

22 Porque *Sl 40.17;86.1eu sou aflito e necessitado,

e, dentro de mim, está *Sl 143.4;Jó 24.12;Pv 18.14ferido o meu coração.

23 Vou-me *Sl 102.11como a sombra que declina;

sou arrebatado *Êx 10.19;Jó 39.20como um gafanhoto.

24 Bambaleiam *Hb 12.12os meus joelhos *Sl 35.13por efeito do jejum,

e a minha carne está privada de gordura.

25 Quanto a mim, tornei-me para eles objeto de *Sl 22.6opróbrio;

ao verem-me eles, *Sl 22.7;Jr 18.16;Lm 2.15meneiam a cabeça.

26 *Sl 119.86Ajuda-me, Jeová, Deus meu;

salva-me segundo a tua benignidade,

27 para que *Jó 37.7saibam que nisso está a tua mão,

que tu, Jeová, fizeste isso.

28 *2Sm 16.11-12Amaldiçoem eles, mas abençoa tu;

envergonhados sejam os que se levantam,

*Is 65.14mas regozije-se o teu servo.

29 Vistam-se de ignomínia *Sl 132.18;Jó 8.22os meus adversários

e da sua própria vergonha *Sl 35.26;Jó 8.22cubram-se como dum manto.

30 Muitas graças darei a Jeová com a minha boca

e, no meio da multidão, *Sl 22.22o louvarei,

31 porque ele se coloca *Sl 16.8;73.23;110.5;121.5à mão direita do necessitado,

para o salvar dos que *Sl 37.33julgam a sua alma.

1 God of my praise, don’t remain silent,

2 for they have opened the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of deceit against me.

They have spoken to me with a lying tongue.

3 They have also surrounded me with words of hatred,

and fought against me without a cause.

4 In return for my love, they are my adversaries;

but I am in prayer.

5 They have rewarded me evil for good,

and hatred for my love.

6 Set a wicked man over him.

Let an adversary stand at his right hand.

7 When he is judged, let him come out guilty.

Let his prayer be turned into sin.

8 Let his days be few.

Let another take his office.

9 Let his children be fatherless,

and his wife a widow.

10 Let his children be wandering beggars.

Let them be sought from their ruins.

11 Let the creditor seize all that he has.

Let strangers plunder the fruit of his labor.

12 Let there be no one to extend kindness to him,

neither let there be anyone to have pity on his fatherless children.

13 Let his posterity be cut off.

In the generation following let their name be blotted out.

14 Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered by Yahweh.

Don’t let the sin of his mother be blotted out.

15 Let them be before Yahweh continually,

that he may cut off their memory from the earth;

16 because he didn’t remember to show kindness,

but persecuted the poor and needy man,

the broken in heart, to kill them.

17 Yes, he loved cursing, and it came to him.

He didn’t delight in blessing, and it was far from him.

18 He clothed himself also with cursing as with his garment.

It came into his inward parts like water,

like oil into his bones.

19 Let it be to him as the clothing with which he covers himself,

for the belt that is always around him.

20 This is the reward of my adversaries from Yahweh,

of those who speak evil against my soul.

21 But deal with me, Yahweh the Lord,*109:21 The word translated "Lord" is "Adonai." for your name’s sake,

because your loving kindness is good, deliver me;

22 for I am poor and needy.

My heart is wounded within me.

23 I fade away like an evening shadow.

I am shaken off like a locust.

24 My knees are weak through fasting.

My body is thin and lacks fat.

25 I have also become a reproach to them.

When they see me, they shake their head.

26 Help me, Yahweh, my God.

Save me according to your loving kindness;

27 that they may know that this is your hand;

that you, Yahweh, have done it.

28 They may curse, but you bless.

When they arise, they will be shamed,

but your servant shall rejoice.

29 Let my adversaries be clothed with dishonor.

Let them cover themselves with their own shame as with a robe.

30 I will give great thanks to Yahweh with my mouth.

Yes, I will praise him among the multitude.

31 For he will stand at the right hand of the needy,

to save him from those who judge his soul.
