Confiança em Deus e anelo pela sua presença

1 Jeová é a minha *Sl 18.28;Is 60.20;Mq 7.8luz e a *Sl 62.7;118.14;Êx 15.2;Is 33.2;Jn 2.9minha salvação; de quem me recearei?

Jeová é a *Sl 28.8fortaleza da minha vida; de *Sl 118.6quem terei medo?

2 Quando malfeitores se chegaram a mim para *Sl 14.4comerem as minhas carnes,

eles, meus opressores e inimigos, *Sl 9.3tropeçaram e caíram.

3 Ainda que *Sl 3.6se acampe contra mim um exército,

não se receará o meu coração;

embora se levante contra mim a guerra,

ainda assim *Jó 4.6conservarei eu a minha confiança.

4 Uma coisa pedi a Jeová e a buscarei:

que *Sl 23.6habite eu na Casa de Jeová todos os dias da minha vida,

para contemplar *Sl 90.17a formosura de Jeová

e *Sl 18.6estudar no seu templo.

5 Pois, *Sl 50.15no dia da adversidade, me *Sl 31.20ocultará no seu pavilhão;

no recôndito do seu tabernáculo, *Sl 17.8me esconderá;

sobre uma rocha *Sl 40.2me elevará.

6 E, agora, será elevada *Sl 3.3a minha cabeça acima dos meus inimigos que me cercam;

e, no seu tabernáculo, oferecerei *Sl 107.22sacrifícios de júbilo;

*Sl 13.6cantarei, sim, cantarei louvores a Jeová.

7 *Sl 4.3;61.1Ouve, Jeová, quando eu, com a minha voz, clamar;

compadece-te também de mim e *Sl 13.3responde-me.

8 Quando disseste: *Sl 105.4;Am 5.6Buscai o meu rosto, a ti te disse o meu coração:

O teu rosto, Jeová, *Sl 34.4buscarei.

9 *Sl 69.17Não escondas de mim o teu rosto;

não rejeites com *Sl 6.1ira o teu servo.

Tu tens sido o *Sl 40.17meu auxílio;

*Sl 94.14não me enjeites, nem me *Sl 37.28desampares,

Ó Deus da minha salvação.

10 Pois, meu pai *Is 49.15e minha mãe me abandonaram,

*Is 40.11Mas Jeová me acolherá.

11 *Sl 25.4;86.11Ensina-me, Jeová, o teu caminho

e conduze-me *Sl 5.8;26.12por uma vereda plana, por causa dos que me espreitam.

12 Não me *Sl 41.2entregues à vontade dos meus adversários

porque contra mim se levantam *Sl 35.11;Dt 19.18;Mt 26.60falsas testemunhas e os que *At 9.1respiram crueldade.

13 Oh! Se eu não houvera crido *Sl 31.19que veria a bondade de Jeová

na *Sl 52.5;116.9;142.5;Jó 28.13;Is 38.11;Jr 11.19terra dos viventes!

14 *Sl 25.3;37.34;40.1;62.5;130.5;Pv 20.22;Is 25.9Espera tu por Jeová.

*Sl 31.24Tem bom ânimo, e fortifique-se o teu coração;

sim, espera tu por Jeová.

1 Yahweh is my light and my salvation.

Whom shall I fear?

Yahweh is the strength of my life.

Of whom shall I be afraid?

2 When evildoers came at me to eat up my flesh,

even my adversaries and my foes, they stumbled and fell.

3 Though an army should encamp against me,

my heart shall not fear.

Though war should rise against me,

even then I will be confident.

4 One thing I have asked of Yahweh, that I will seek after:

that I may dwell in Yahweh’s house all the days of my life,

to see Yahweh’s beauty,

and to inquire in his temple.

5 For in the day of trouble, he will keep me secretly in his pavilion.

In the secret place of his tabernacle, he will hide me.

He will lift me up on a rock.

6 Now my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me.

I will offer sacrifices of joy in his tent.

I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to Yahweh.

7 Hear, Yahweh, when I cry with my voice.

Have mercy also on me, and answer me.

8 When you said, "Seek my face,"

my heart said to you, "I will seek your face, Yahweh."

9 Don’t hide your face from me.

Don’t put your servant away in anger.

You have been my help.

Don’t abandon me,

neither forsake me, God of my salvation.

10 When my father and my mother forsake me,

then Yahweh will take me up.

11 Teach me your way, Yahweh.

Lead me in a straight path, because of my enemies.

12 Don’t deliver me over to the desire of my adversaries,

for false witnesses have risen up against me,

such as breathe out cruelty.

13 I am still confident of this:

I will see the goodness of Yahweh in the land of the living.

14 Wait for Yahweh.

Be strong, and let your heart take courage.

Yes, wait for Yahweh.
