Danket Jehova, rufet an seinen Namen, machet kund unter den Völkern seine Taten! 2 Singet ihm, singet ihm Psalmen; sinnet über alle *O. redet von allen seine Wunderwerke! 3 Rühmet euch seines heiligen Namens! es freue sich das Herz derer, die Jehova suchen! 4 Trachtet nach Jehova und seiner Stärke, suchet sein Angesicht beständig! 5 Gedenket seiner Wunderwerke, die er getan hat, seiner Wunderzeichen und der Gerichte *O. Urteile, Rechte seines Mundes! 6 Du Same Abrahams, seines Knechtes, *O. sein Knecht ihr Söhne Jakobs, seine Auserwählten! 7 Er, Jehova, ist unser Gott; seine Gerichte sind auf der ganzen Erde.

8 Er gedenkt ewiglich seines Bundes, des Wortes, das er geboten hat auf tausend Geschlechter hin, 9 Den er gemacht hat mit Abraham, und seines Eides, den er Isaak geschworen hat. *W. seines Eides an Isaak10 Und er stellte ihn Jakob zur Satzung, Israel zum ewigen Bunde, 11 Indem er sprach: Dir will ich das Land Kanaan geben als Schnur eures Erbteils; 12 Als sie ein zählbares Häuflein *Eig. eine zählbare Mannschaft waren, gar wenige und Fremdlinge darin; 13 Und als sie wanderten von Nation zu Nation, von einem Reiche zu einem anderen Volke. 14 Er ließ keinem Menschen zu, sie zu bedrücken, und ihretwegen strafte er Könige: 15 "Tastet meine Gesalbten nicht an, und meinen Propheten tut nichts Übles!" 16 Und er rief eine Hungersnot über das Land herbei; jede Stütze des Brotes zerbrach er. 17 Er sandte einen Mann vor ihnen her, Joseph wurde zum Knechte verkauft. 18 Man preßte seine Füße in den Stock, *Eig. in das Fußeisen er *W. seine Seele kam in das Eisen. 19 Bis zur Zeit, da sein Wort eintraf; das Wort Jehovas läuterte ihn. *O. ihn geläutert hatte20 Der König sandte hin und ließ ihn los, der Herrscher über Völker, und befreite ihn; 21 Er setzte ihn zum Herrn über sein Haus, und zum Herrscher über all sein Besitztum, 22 Um seine Fürsten zu fesseln nach seiner Lust, und daß er seine Ältesten Weisheit lehre. 23 Und Israel kam nach Ägypten, und Jakob hielt sich auf im Lande Hams. 24 Und er machte sein Volk sehr fruchtbar, und machte es stärker *O. zahlreicher als seine Bedränger.

25 Er wandelte ihr Herz, sein Volk zu hassen, Arglist zu üben an seinen Knechten. 26 Er sandte Mose, seinen Knecht, Aaron, den er auserwählt hatte. 27 Sie taten unter ihnen seine Zeichen, und Wunder im Lande Hams. 28 Er sandte Finsternis und machte finster; und sie waren nicht widerspenstig gegen seine Worte. 29 Er verwandelte ihre Wasser in Blut, und ließ sterben ihre Fische. 30 Es wimmelte ihr Land von Fröschen, in den Gemächern ihrer Könige. 31 Er sprach, und es kamen Hundsfliegen, Stechmücken in alle ihre Grenzen. 32 Er gab ihnen Hagel als Regen, flammendes Feuer in ihrem Lande; 33 Und er schlug ihre Weinstöcke und Feigenbäume, und zerbrach die Bäume ihres Landes. *Eig. ihrer Grenzen34 Er sprach, und es kamen Heuschrecken und Grillen *Eig. Abfresser; eine Heuschreckenart ohne Zahl; 35 Und sie fraßen alles Kraut in ihrem Lande und fraßen die Frucht ihres Bodens. 36 Und er schlug alle Erstgeburt in ihrem Lande, die Erstlinge all ihrer Kraft. 37 Und er führte sie heraus mit Silber und Gold, und kein Strauchelnder war in seinen Stämmen. 38 Froh war Ägypten, daß *O. als sie auszogen; denn ihr Schrecken war auf sie gefallen. 39 Er breitete eine Wolke aus zur Decke, und ein Feuer, die Nacht zu erleuchten. 40 Sie forderten, und er ließ Wachteln kommen; und mit Himmelsbrot sättigte er sie. 41 Er öffnete den Felsen, und es flossen Wasser heraus; sie liefen in den dürren Örtern wie ein Strom. 42 Denn er gedachte seines heiligen Wortes, Abrahams, seines Knechtes; 43 Und er führte sein Volk heraus mit Freuden, mit Jubel seine Auserwählten. 44 Und er gab ihnen die Länder der Nationen, und die Mühe *d. h. das mühsam Errungene der Völkerschaften nahmen sie in Besitz; 45 Damit sie seine Satzungen beobachteten und seine Gesetze bewahrten. 4 Rapua a Ihowā me tōna kaha;

rapua tonutia tōna mata, ake ake.

5 Maharatia āna mahi whakamīharo i mahia e ia,

āna merekara me ngā whakaritenga a tōna māngai,

6 e ngā uri o Āperahama, o tāna pononga,

e ngā tama a Hākopa, e āna i whiriwhiri ai.

7 Ko Ihowā ia, ko tō tātou Atua;

kei te whenua katoa āna whakaritenga.

8 Mahara tonu ia ki tāna kawenata ake ake,

ki te kupu i kīia iho e ia ki te mano o ngā whakatupuranga.

9 Ki tāna i whakarite ai ki a Āperahama,

ki tāna oati hoki ki a Īhaka,

10 ā, whakapūmautia iho e ia hei tikanga ki a Hākopa,

hei kawenata mau tonu ki a Īharaira.

20 I tono te kīngi, ā, wetekina ana ia;

arā te kīngi o ngā iwi, ā, tukua ana ia.

21 Ā, meinga ana ia e ia hei ariki mō tōna whare,

hei rangatira mō ōna taonga katoa;

22 hei herehere i āna rangatira ua pai ia,

hei ako i āna kaumātua ki te whakaaro.

23 I haere mai anō a Īharaira ki Īhipa;

rāua ko Ārona, ko tāna i whiriwhiri ai.

27 Whakaputaina ana e rāua āna tohu i waenganui i a rātou,

he merekara i te whenua o Hama.

28 I tukua e ia te pōuri, ā, kua pōuri;

kīhai anō rātou i whakakeke ki āna kupu.

29 I whakaputaia kētia e ia ō rātou wai hei toto;

ā, mate ake i a ia ā rātou ngohi.

30 I whakangahue ake tō rātou whenua i te poroka,

i roto i ngā whare moenga o ō rātou kīngi.

me te moka, tē taea te tatau,

36 I whakamatea katoatia anō hoki e ia ngā mātāmua o tō rātou whenua,

te muanga o tō rātou kaha.

37 Ā, whakaputaina mai ana rātou e ia, me te hiriwa, me te kōura,

kāhore hoki he mea tūoi i roto i āna iwi.

38 Nā, hari ana a Īhipa i tō rātou haerenga;

i mau hoki tō rātou wehi ki a rātou.

39 I horahia e ia te kapua hei hīpoki,

me te ahi hei whakamārama i te pō.

40 I īnoi rātou, ā, hōmai ana e ia te koitareke;

ā, ka mākona rātou i te taro o te rangi.

41 I wāhia e ia te kōhatu, ā, ka pakaru mai ngā wai;

rere ana i ngā wāhi maroke, koia anō kei te awa.

44 Ā, hōmai ana e ia ki a rātou ngā whenua o ngā tauiwi;

ā, riro ana i a rātou ngā māuiuitanga o te iwi,

45 kia puritia ai e rātou āna tikanga,
