1 Alegrei-me quando me disseram:

Vamos à Casa do Senhor.

2 Pararam os nossos pés

junto às tuas portas, ó Jerusalém!

3 Jerusalém, que estás construída

como cidade compacta,

4 para onde sobem as tribos,

as tribos do Senhor,

como convém a Israel,

para renderem graças ao nome do Senhor.

5 Lá estão os tronos de justiça,

os tronos da casa de Davi.

6 Orai pela paz de Jerusalém!

Sejam prósperos os que te amam.

7 Reine paz dentro de teus muros

e prosperidade nos teus palácios.

8 Por amor dos meus irmãos e amigos,

eu peço: haja paz em ti!

9 Por amor da Casa do Senhor, nosso Deus,

buscarei o teu bem.

Let us go unto the house of Jehovah.

2 Our feet are standing

Within thy gates, O Jerusalem,

3 Jerusalem, that art builded

As a city that is compact together;

4 Whither the tribes go up, even the tribes of Jehovah,

For an ordinance for Israel,

To give thanks unto the name of Jehovah.

5 For there are set thrones for judgment,

The thrones of the house of David.

6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:

They shall prosper that love thee.

7 Peace be within thy walls,

And prosperity within thy palaces.

8 For my brethren and companions’ sakes,

I will now say, Peace be within thee.

9 For the sake of the house of Jehovah our God

I will seek thy good.

1 I rejoiced with those who said to me, "Let us go to the house of the LORD."

2 Our feet are standing in your gates, Jerusalem.

3 Jerusalem is built like a city that is closely compacted together.

4 That is where the tribes go up — the tribes of the LORD — to praise the name of the LORD according to the statute given to Israel.

5 There stand the thrones for judgment, the thrones of the house of David.

6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: "May those who love you be secure.

7 May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels."

8 For the sake of my family and friends, I will say, "Peace be within you."

9 For the sake of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek your prosperity.
