Confiança em Deus, na angústia
Salmo de Davi ao mestre de canto, com instrumentos de cordas

1 Responde-me quando clamo, ó Deus da minha justiça;

na angústia, me tens aliviado;

tem misericórdia de mim e ouve a minha oração.

2 Ó homens, até quando tornareis a minha glória em vexame,

e amareis a vaidade, e buscareis a mentira?

3 Sabei, porém, que o Senhor distingue para si o piedoso;

o Senhor me ouve quando eu clamo por ele.

4 Irai-vos e não pequeis;

consultai no travesseiro o coração e sossegai.

5 Oferecei sacrifícios de justiça

e confiai no Senhor.

6 Há muitos que dizem: Quem nos dará a conhecer o bem?

Senhor, levanta sobre nós a luz do teu rosto.

7 Mais alegria me puseste no coração do que a alegria deles,

quando lhes há fartura de cereal e de vinho.

8 Em paz me deito e logo pego no sono,

porque, Senhor, só tu me fazes repousar seguro.

For the Chief Musician; on stringed instruments. A Psalm of David.

1 Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness;

Thou hast set me at large when I was in distress:

Have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.

2 O ye sons of men, how long shall my glory be turned into dishonor?

How long will ye love vanity, and seek after falsehood? [Selah

3 But know that Jehovah hath set apart for himself him that is godly:

Jehovah will hear when I call unto him.

4 Stand in awe, and sin not:

Commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. [Selah

5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness,

And put your trust in Jehovah.

6 Many there are that say, Who will show us any good?

Jehovah, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us.

7 Thou hast put gladness in my heart,

More than they have when their grain and their new wine are increased.

8 In peace will I both lay me down and sleep;

For thou, Jehovah, alone makest me dwell in safety.

1 Answer me when I call to you, my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; have mercy on me and hear my prayer.

2 How long will you people turn my glory into shame? How long will you love delusions and seek false gods "? [^2]

3 Know that the LORD has set apart his faithful servant for himself; the LORD hears when I call to him.

4 Tremble and "do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent.

5 Offer the sacrifices of the righteous and trust in the LORD.

6 Many, LORD, are asking, "Who will bring us prosperity?" Let the light of your face shine on us.

7 Fill my heart with joy when their grain and new wine abound.

8 In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, LORD, make me dwell in safety.
