Petição por auxílio divino
Ao mestre de canto. De Davi. Em memória

1 Praza-te, ó Deus, em livrar-me;

dá-te pressa, ó Senhor, em socorrer-me.

2 Sejam envergonhados e cobertos de vexame

os que me demandam a vida;

tornem atrás e cubram-se de ignomínia

os que se comprazem no meu mal.

3 Retrocedam por causa da sua ignomínia

os que dizem: Bem feito! Bem feito!

4 Folguem e em ti se rejubilem

todos os que te buscam;

e os que amam a tua salvação

digam sempre: Deus seja magnificado!

5 Eu sou pobre e necessitado;

ó Deus, apressa-te em valer-me,

pois tu és o meu amparo e o meu libertador.

Senhor, não te detenhas!

For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David; to bring to remembrance.

1 Make haste, O God, to deliver me;

Make haste to help me, O Jehovah.

2 Let them be put to shame and confounded

That seek after my soul:

Let them be turned backward and brought to dishonor

That delight in my hurt.

3 Let them be turned back by reason of their shame

That say, Aha, aha.

4 Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee;

And let such as love thy salvation say continually,

Let God be magnified.

5 But I am poor and needy;

Make haste unto me, O God:

Thou art my help and my deliverer;

O Jehovah, make no tarrying.

1 Hasten, O God, to save me; come quickly, LORD, to help me.

2 May those who want to take my life be put to shame and confusion; may all who desire my ruin be turned back in disgrace.

3 May those who say to me, "Aha! Aha!" turn back because of their shame.

4 But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who long for your saving help always say, "The LORD is great!"

5 But as for me, I am poor and needy; come quickly to me, O God. You are my help and my deliverer; LORD, do not delay.
