As rebeliões de Israel e as libertações de Jeová

Rendei graças a Jeová, porque ele é *Sl 100.5bom,

porque *1Cr 16.34,41a sua benignidade dura para sempre.

2 Quem poderá referir *Sl 145.4,12;150.2os poderosos feitos de Jeová

ou manifestar todo o seu louvor?

3 Felizes são os que guardam a retidão,

e aquele que *Sl 15.2pratica a justiça, em todos os tempos.

4 Lembra-te de mim, Jeová, com a *Sl 44.3;119.132misericórdia que dispensas ao teu povo;

visita-me com a tua salvação,

5 para que veja eu a *Sl 1.3prosperidade dos teus escolhidos,

para que me *Sl 118.15regozije com a alegria da tua nação,

para que me *Sl 105.3glorie juntamente com a tua herança.

6 *1Rs 8.47;Ed 9.7;Ne 1.7;Jr 3.25;Dn 9.5Pecamos *Sl 78.8,57;2Cr 30.7;Ne 9.2;Zc 1.4com nossos pais,

cometemos iniquidade e praticamos o mal.

7 Nossos pais não entenderam as tuas maravilhas no Egito,

*Sl 78.11,42;Jz 3.7não se lembraram da multidão das tuas benignidades,

e foram *Sl 78.17;Êx 14.11-12rebeldes junto ao mar, ao mar Vermelho.

8 Todavia, ele os salvou *Ez 20.9por amor do seu nome,

para lhes *Êx 9.16dar a conhecer o seu grande poder.

9 *Sl 18.15;78.13;Is 50.2;Na 1.4Repreendeu também o mar Vermelho, o qual *Êx 14.21;Is 51.10ficou enxuto;

assim, os *Is 63.11-13conduziu pelos abismos como pelo deserto.

10 *Êx 14.30Salvou-os da mão de quem os odiava

e *Sl 78.42;107.2remiu-os do poder do inimigo.

11 *Sl 78.53;Êx 14.28;15.5As águas cobriram os seus adversários;

não ficou deles nem um só.

12 Então, *Êx 14.31deram crédito às suas palavras

e *Sl 105.43;Êx 15.1-21cantaram-lhe o louvor.

13 Bem depressa *Êx 15.24;16.2;17.2se esqueceram das suas obras

e não lhe *Sl 107.11aguardaram o conselho;

14 mas *Sl 78.18;Nm 11.4;1Co 10.6deixaram-se levar da cobiça no deserto

e *Êx 17.2;1Co 10.9tentaram a Deus no ermo.

15 *Sl 78.29;Nm 11.31Deu-lhes o que pediram,

mas *Is 10.16enviou-lhes magreza às suas almas.

16 Eles *Nm 16.3invejaram a Moisés no acampamento

e a Arão, o santo de Jeová.

17 *Nm 16.32Abriu-se a terra, que tragou a Datã

e cobriu a gente de Abirão.

18 Ateou-se um *Nm 16.35fogo no meio da sua gente;

a chama abrasou os perversos.

19 Em Horebe, *Êx 32.4;Dt 9.8;At 7.41fizeram um bezerro

e adoraram uma imagem fundida.

20 Assim, *Jr 2.11;Rm 1.23trocaram a sua glória

pelo simulacro de um boi que come erva.

21 *Sl 78.11;106.7,13Esqueceram-se de Deus, seu Salvador,

que no Egito fizera *Dt 10.21grandezas,

22 *Sl 105.27maravilhas na terra de Cam

e coisas tremendas junto ao mar Vermelho.

23 Portanto, *Êx 32.10;Dt 9.14;Ez 20.8,13ele disse que ia exterminá-los; assim o teria feito,

*Êx 32.11-14;Dt 9.25-29se Moisés, seu escolhido, se não lhe houvesse interposto,

para impedir que a sua ira os destruísse.

24 Eles *Nm 14.31desprezaram a *Dt 8.7;Jr 3.19;Ez 20.6terra aprazível

e não *Dt 1.32;9.23deram crédito à sua palavra;

25 mas *Nm 14.2;Dt 1.27murmuraram nas suas tendas

e não deram ouvidos à voz de Jeová.

26 Portanto, levantando a mão, *Sl 95.11;Nm 14.28-35;Ez 20.15;Hb 3.11jurou-lhes

que os havia de derribar no deserto;

27 e que também lhes *Dt 4.27derribaria entre as nações a sua descendência

e os *Sl 44.11dispersaria pelas terras.

28 *Nm 25.3;Dt 4.3;Os 9.10Uniram-se também com Baal-Peor

e comeram *Nm 25.2os sacrifícios dos mortos.

29 Assim, o *Nm 25.4provocaram à ira com as suas ações;

e a praga os assaltou.

30 Então, se *Nm 25.7levantou Fineias e executou o juízo.

Assim, cessou a *Nm 25.8praga.

31 Isso lhe foi *Gn 15.6;Nm 25.11-13imputado por justiça,

em todas as gerações para sempre.

32 Também o *Sl 81.7;95.9;Nm 20.2-13indignaram junto às águas de Meribá,

de sorte que, por causa deles, *Nm 20.12resultou mal a Moisés.

33 Porque eram *Sl 78.40;107.11;Nm 20.3,10rebeldes ao Espírito de Deus,

e Moisés falou imprudentemente com os seus lábios.

34 Não *Jz 1.21,27-36exterminaram aos povos,

como *Dt 7.2,16Jeová lhes ordenou;

35 antes, se *Jz 3.5-6mesclaram com as nações

e aprenderam-lhes as obras.

36 *Jz 2.12Serviram-lhes os ídolos,

os quais se lhes converteram em laços.

37 *Dt 12.31;32.17;2Rs 17.17;Ez 16.20-21;1Co 10.20Sacrificaram seus filhos e filhas aos demônios

38 e derramaram *Sl 94.21o sangue inocente, o sangue de seus *Dt 18.10filhos e filhas,

que eles sacrificaram aos ídolos de Canaã.

A terra foi *Nm 35.33;Is 24.5;Jr 3.1-2manchada com sangue.

39 Assim, se *Lv 18.24;Ez 20.18contaminaram com as suas obras

e se *Lv 17.7;Nm 15.39;Jz 2.17;Os 4.12prostituíram nos seus feitos.

40 Por isso, se acendeu a *Sl 78.59;Jz 2.14ira de Jeová contra o seu povo,

e ele *Lv 26.30;Dt 32.19abominou a sua herança.

41 *Jz 2.14;Ne 9.27Entregou-os ao poder das nações,

e, sobre eles, dominavam os que os odiavam.

42 *Jz 4.3;10.12Oprimiram-nos também os seus inimigos,

e, sob o poder destes, foram humilhados.

43 Muitas vezes, os *Jz 2.16-18livrou;

mas eles, rebeldes, permaneceram *Sl 81.12no seu conselho

e, por sua iniquidade, *Jz 6.6foram abatidos.

44 Todavia, olhou para a sua angústia,

quando lhes *Jz 3.9;6.7;10.10ouviu o clamor;

45 *Sl 105.8;Lv 26.42recordou a favor deles a sua aliança

e se *Jz 2.18arrependeu segundo a multidão das suas benignidades.

46 Fê-los também receber *1Rs 8.50;2Cr 30.9;Ed 9.9;Ne 1.11;Jr 42.12compaixão

da parte de todos os que os levaram cativos.

47 *1Cr 16.35-36Salva-nos, Jeová, Deus nosso,

e *Sl 147.2congrega-nos dentre as nações,

para darmos graças ao teu santo nome

e *Sl 47.1gloriarmo-nos no teu louvor.

48 *Sl 41.13;72.18;89.52Bendito seja Jeová, Deus de Israel,

desde a eternidade até a eternidade!

1 Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.*106.1 Praise…: Heb. Hallelujah

2 Who can utter the mighty acts of the LORD? who can shew forth all his praise?

3 Blessed are they that keep judgment, and he that doeth righteousness at all times.

4 Remember me, O LORD, with the favour that thou bearest unto thy people: O visit me with thy salvation;

5 That I may see the good of thy chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation, that I may glory with thine inheritance.

6 We have sinned with our fathers, we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly.

7 Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; they remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; but provoked him at the sea, even at the Red sea.

8 Nevertheless he saved them for his name’s sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known.

9 He rebuked the Red sea also, and it was dried up: so he led them through the depths, as through the wilderness.

10 And he saved them from the hand of him that hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.

11 And the waters covered their enemies: there was not one of them left.

12 Then believed they his words; they sang his praise.

13 They soon forgat his works; they waited not for his counsel:*106.13 They soon…: Heb. They made haste, they forgat

14 But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert.*106.14 lusted…: Heb. lusted a lust

15 And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.

16 They envied Moses also in the camp, and Aaron the saint of the LORD.

17 The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the company of Abiram.

18 And a fire was kindled in their company; the flame burned up the wicked.

19 They made a calf in Horeb, and worshipped the molten image.

20 Thus they changed their glory into the similitude of an ox that eateth grass.

21 They forgat God their saviour, which had done great things in Egypt;

22 Wondrous works in the land of Ham, and terrible things by the Red sea.

23 Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them.

24 Yea, they despised the pleasant land, they believed not his word:*106.24 the pleasant…: Heb. a land of desire

25 But murmured in their tents, and hearkened not unto the voice of the LORD.

26 Therefore he lifted up his hand against them, to overthrow them in the wilderness:*106.26 to overthrow: Heb. to make them fall

27 To overthrow their seed also among the nations, and to scatter them in the lands.*106.27 To overthrow: Heb. To make them fall

28 They joined themselves also unto Baal-peor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead.

29 Thus they provoked him to anger with their inventions: and the plague brake in upon them.

30 Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment: and so the plague was stayed.

31 And that was counted unto him for righteousness unto all generations for evermore.

32 They angered him also at the waters of strife, so that it went ill with Moses for their sakes:

33 Because they provoked his spirit, so that he spake unadvisedly with his lips.

34 They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the LORD commanded them:

35 But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works.

36 And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them.

37 Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils,

38 And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood.

39 Thus were they defiled with their own works, and went a whoring with their own inventions.

40 Therefore was the wrath of the LORD kindled against his people, insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance.

41 And he gave them into the hand of the heathen; and they that hated them ruled over them.

42 Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their hand.

43 Many times did he deliver them; but they provoked him with their counsel, and were brought low for their iniquity.*106.43 brought…: or, impoverished, or, weakened

44 Nevertheless he regarded their affliction, when he heard their cry:

45 And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies.

46 He made them also to be pitied of all those that carried them captives.

47 Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks unto thy holy name, and to triumph in thy praise.
