O zelo de Davi pelo templo e pela arca. As promessas feitas por Deus

Cântico dos degraus

1 Lembra-te, Jeová, a bem de Davi,

de tudo *2Sm 16.12;1Cr 22.14quanto ele sofreu,

2 como jurou a Jeová

e fez voto *Gn 49.24;Is 49.26;60.16ao poderoso de Jacó:

3 não entrarei na *Jó 5.24tenda da minha casa,

nem subirei ao leito da minha cama;

4 não *Pv 6.4darei sono aos meus olhos,

nem adormecimento às minhas pálpebras,

5 até que eu ache *Sl 26.8;1Rs 8.17;1Cr 22.7;At 7.46um lugar para Jeová,

um tabernáculo *Sl 132.2para o Poderoso de Jacó.

6 Eis que ouvimos falar da arca em *Gn 35.19;1Sm 17.12Efrata;

encontramo-la *1Sm 7.1no campo de Jaar.

7 Entremos no lugar *Sl 43.3em que ele habita,

*Sl 5.7;99.5adoremos ante *1Cr 28.2o escabelo dos seus pés.

8 *Sl 68.1;Nm 10.35;2Cr 6.41Levanta-te, Jeová, entra *Sl 132.14no lugar do teu repouso,

tu e a arca da tua *Sl 78.61fortaleza.

9 *Jó 29.14Vistam-se os teus sacerdotes de justiça,

e exultem de júbilo os *Sl 30.4;132.16;149.5teus santos.

10 Por amor do teu servo Davi,

não repilas o rosto do teu *Sl 2.2;132.17ungido.

11 A Davi *Sl 89.3,35jurou Jeová a verdade,

da qual não se apartará:

*2Sm 7.12-16;2Cr 6.16Do fruto do teu corpo porei sobre o teu trono.

12 Se teus filhos guardarem a minha aliança

e o testemunho que eu lhes ensinar,

também seus filhos se *Lc 1.32;At 2.30assentarão sobre o teu trono para sempre.

13 Pois Jeová *Sl 78.68escolheu a Sião;

para morada sua a *Sl 68.16desejou.

14 Este é o *Sl 132.8lugar do meu repouso para sempre;

aqui *Mt 23.21habitarei, porque o tenho desejado.

15 Certamente, *Sl 147.14abençoarei o seu mantimento;

*Sl 107.9fartarei de pão os seus pobres.

16 Vestirei também *Sl 132.9os seus sacerdotes de salvação;

e de júbilo exultarão os seus santos.

17 Ali, farei brotar a *Ez 29.21;Lc 1.69força de Davi;

preparei uma *Sl 18.28;1Rs 11.36;15.4;2Rs 8.19;2Cr 21.7lâmpada para o meu ungido.

18 De vergonha *Sl 35.26;109.29;Jó 8.22vestirei os seus inimigos,

mas sobre ele *Sl 21.3florescerá a sua coroa.

A Song of degrees.

1 LORD, remember David, and all his afflictions:

2 How he sware unto the LORD, and vowed unto the mighty God of Jacob;

3 Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, nor go up into my bed;

4 I will not give sleep to mine eyes, or slumber to mine eyelids,

5 Until I find out a place for the LORD, an habitation for the mighty God of Jacob.*132.5 an habitation: Heb. habitations

6 Lo, we heard of it at Ephratah: we found it in the fields of the wood.

7 We will go into his tabernacles: we will worship at his footstool.

8 Arise, O LORD, into thy rest; thou, and the ark of thy strength.

9 Let thy priests be clothed with righteousness; and let thy saints shout for joy.

10 For thy servant David’s sake turn not away the face of thine anointed.

11 The LORD hath sworn in truth unto David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne.*132.11 body: Heb. belly

12 If thy children will keep my covenant and my testimony that I shall teach them, their children shall also sit upon thy throne for evermore.

13 For the LORD hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his habitation.

14 This is my rest for ever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it.

15 I will abundantly bless her provision: I will satisfy her poor with bread.*132.15 abundantly: or, surely

16 I will also clothe her priests with salvation: and her saints shall shout aloud for joy.

17 There will I make the horn of David to bud: I have ordained a lamp for mine anointed.*132.17 lamp: or, candle

18 His enemies will I clothe with shame: but upon himself shall his crown flourish.
