Um cântico celebrando as bodas do Rei

1 De boas palavras trasborda o meu coração.

Repito o que compus no tocante a um rei.

A minha língua é pena de *Ed 7.6escritor expedito.

2 Tu és mais formoso do que os filhos dos homens;

sobre os teus lábios está derramada a graça.

Por isso, Deus te *Sl 21.6abençoou para sempre.

3 Cinge a tua espada, *Is 9.6ó grande herói,

cinge a tua glória e a tua majestade.

4 Na tua majestade monta prosperamente,

pela causa da verdade, *Sf 2.3da mansidão e da justiça,

e a tua *Sl 21.8destra te ensinará coisas terríveis.

5 As tuas *Sl 18.14;120.4;Is 5.28;7.13setas são agudas

*Sl 92.9(Os povos caem debaixo de ti.)

*2Sm 18.14no coração dos inimigos do rei.

6 *Sl 93.2;Hb 1.8-9O teu trono, ó Deus, é pelos séculos dos séculos;

*Sl 98.9e cetro de equidade é o cetro do teu reino.

Portanto, Deus, o teu Deus, *Sl 2.2te ungiu

com o óleo de alegria acima dos teus companheiros.

8 Todas as tuas vestes cheiram *Ct 4.14;Jo 19.39à mirra, aloés e cássia.

De palácios de marfim soam *Sl 150.4instrumentos de cordas que te alegram.

9 Filhas de reis estão em o número *Ct 6.8das tuas queridas;

*1Rs 2.19à tua mão direita está a rainha, ataviada *1Rs 9.28;Is 13.12de ouro de Ofir.

10 Ouve, filha, considera e inclina o teu ouvido;

11 Assim, o rei desejará a tua formosura,

12 A ti virá com donativos a filha *Sl 87.4de Tiro;

*Sl 22.29;68.29;72.10-11os mais ricos do povo suplicarão o teu favor.

13 Toda esplêndida está a filha do Rei lá dentro do palácio;

a sua vestidura é *Êx 39.2-3recamada de ouro.

14 *Jz 5.30;Ez 16.10Em vestidos bordados é ela *Ct 1.4conduzida ao Rei.

*Sl 45.9As virgens, suas companheiras que a seguem,

serão trazidas à tua presença.

15 Serão conduzidas com alegria e regozijo;

entrarão no palácio do Rei.

16 Em lugar de teus pais, serão teus filhos,

a quem farás príncipes por toda a terra.

17 Farei que seja lembrado *Ml 1.11o teu nome em todas as gerações,

porquanto *Sl 138.4te darão graças os povos para todo o sempre.

2 Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips: therefore God hath blessed thee for ever.

3 Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O most mighty, with thy glory and thy majesty.

4 And in thy majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.*45.4 ride…: Heb. prosper thou, ride thou

5 Thine arrows are sharp in the heart of the king’s enemies; whereby the people fall under thee.

6 Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.

7 Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

8 All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad.

9 Kings’ daughters were among thy honourable women: upon thy right hand did stand the queen in gold of Ophir.

10 Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father’s house;

11 So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him.

12 And the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift; even the rich among the people shall intreat thy favour.*45.12 favour: Heb. face

13 The king’s daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold.

14 She shall be brought unto the king in raiment of needlework: the virgins her companions that follow her shall be brought unto thee.

15 With gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought: they shall enter into the king’s palace.

16 Instead of thy fathers shall be thy children, whom thou mayest make princes in all the earth.

17 I will make thy name to be remembered in all generations: therefore shall the people praise thee for ever and ever.
