1 Fiquei alegre quando me disseram:

"Vamos à casa de Deus, o Senhor."

2 E agora aqui estamos,

dentro de Jerusalém.

3 Jerusalém é uma cidade construída

de novo,

onde o povo se reúne.

4 Para cá sobem as tribos,

as tribos de Israel,

para dar graças ao Senhor,

como ele ordenou.

5 Aqui estão os tribunais de justiça,

onde o rei julga o seu povo.

6 Orem para que haja paz em Jerusalém.

"Ó Jerusalém, que prosperem

aqueles que a amam!

7 Que haja paz na cidade protegida

por muralhas!

Que haja segurança nos seus palácios!"

8 Eu amo os meus patrícios e amigos

e por isso digo a Jerusalém:

"Que a paz esteja com você!"

9 Eu amo o Templo do Senhor,

o nosso Deus,

e por isso oro pela prosperidade

de Jerusalém.

1 I was glad, when they were saying unto me, Unto the house of Yahweh, let us go!

2 Standing are our feet, within thy gates, O Jerusalem!

3 Jerusalem! that hath been builded, A true city, all joined together as one:

4 Whither have come up the tribes, The tribes of Yah, A testimony to Israel, To give thanks unto the Name of Yahweh:

5 For there are setThrones for justice, Thrones for the house David.

6 Ask ye for the peace of Jerusalem, They shall prosper, who love thee!

7 Peace be within thy walls, prosperity within thy palaces:

8 For the sake of my brethren and friends, Oh, might I speak , Peace be within thee!

9 For the sake of the house of Yahweh our God, will I seek blessing for thee.
