1 Os tolos pensam assim:

"Para mim, Deus não tem importância."

Todos são corruptos

e as coisas que eles fazem

são nojentas;

não há uma só pessoa que faça o bem.

2 Lá do céu o Senhor Deus olha

para a humanidade

a fim de ver se existe

alguém que tenha juízo,

se existe uma só pessoa que o adore.

3 Mas todos se desviaram

do caminho certo

e são igualmente corruptos.

Não há mais ninguém que faça o bem,

não há nem mesmo uma só pessoa.

4 O Senhor pergunta:

"Será que toda essa gente má

não entende nada?

Eles vivem explorando o meu povo

e não oram a mim."

5 Mas eles vão tremer de medo

porque Deus está do lado daqueles

que lhe obedecem.

6 Os maus fazem com que fracassem

as esperanças dos necessitados,

mas estes são protegidos

pelo Senhor.

7 Queira Deus que de Jerusalém venha

a vitória para Israel!

Como ficarão felizes e alegres

os descendentes de Jacó

quando o Senhor fizer com que

eles prosperem de novo!

1 The impious hath said in his heartThere is no God! They have acted corruptly, they have done an abominable deed, there is none that doeth good.

2 Yahweh, out of the heavens, looked down over the sons of men,to see whether there was one that showed wisdom, enquiring after God:

3 The whole, have turned aside, Together have they become tainted,There is none that doeth good, not so much as, one!

4 Are all the workers of iniquity, without knowledge? devouring my people they devour food! Upon Yahweh, have they not called.

5 There have they been in great dread, because, God, is in the circle of the righteous man.

6 The purpose of the poor, ye would put to shame, because, Yahweh, is his refuge.

7 Oh that, out of Zion, were granted the salvation of Israel! When Yahweh bringeth back the captives of his people, Jacob, shall exult, Israel, be glad.
