1 Deus é bem-conhecido em Judá;

o seu nome é famoso em Israel.

2 A sua casa está em Jerusalém;

ele mora no monte Sião.

3 Ali Deus quebrou todas as armas

dos inimigos:

as flechas, os escudos e as espadas.

4 Como és glorioso, ó Deus!

E como foste grandioso

quando voltaste das montanhas

onde derrotaste os teus inimigos!

5 Foram levadas todas as coisas

que os seus valentes soldados tinham;

eles agora estão dormindo

o sono da morte,

pois não tiveram forças para se defender.

6 Quando tu, ó Deus de Jacó, os ameaçaste,

os cavalos e os cavaleiros

ficaram como mortos.

7 Todas as pessoas têm medo de ti.

Quem pode permanecer na tua presença

quando estás irado?

8 Lá do céu fizeste conhecida

a tua sentença de condenação.

A terra teve medo e ficou quieta

9 quando te levantaste para fazer justiça,

para salvar todos os que são explorados

neste mundo.

10 Até a ira humana aumenta o louvor

que é dado a ti;

e aqueles que não morreram nas guerras

vão comemorar as tuas festas.

11 Deem ao Senhor, nosso Deus,

o que vocês prometeram;

que todas as nações vizinhas venham

e tragam ofertas para Deus,

aquele que deve ser temido!

12 Deus humilha os governantes orgulhosos;

ele enche de medo os reis da terra.

1 God is, known in Judah, In Israel, great is his Name;

2 Now hath come into Salem, his pavilion, And his dwelling-place into Zion.

3 There, hath he broken in pieces the arrows of the bow, shield and sword, and battle. Selah.

4 Enveloped in light, thou, art more majestic than the mountains of prey.

5 The valiant of heart have become a spoil, They have slumbered their sleep, And none of the men of might have found their hands.

6 At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, Stunned are the horsemen.

7 As for thee, to be feared thou art! Who then shall stand before thee, because of the power of thine anger?

8 Out of the heavens, didst thou cause judgment to be heard, Earth, feared and was still:

9 When God rose up to judgment, To save all the oppressed of the earth. Selah.

10 For the multitude of mankind shall give thanks unto thee, The remainder of the multitude, shall keep holy festival unto thee.

11 Vow and pay, unto Yahweh your God,Let, all who are round about him, bear along a gift unto him who is to be revered.

12 He cutteth off the spirit of nobles, he is of reverend majesty to the kings of the earth.
