1 Praise Yah!
Praise Yahweh’s name!
Praise him, you servants of Yahweh,
2 you who stand in Yahweh’s house,
in the courts of our God’s house.
3 Praise Yah, for Yahweh is good.
Sing praises to his name, for that is pleasant.
4 For Yah has chosen Jacob for himself,
Israel for his own possession.
5 For I know that Yahweh is great,
that our Lord is above all gods.
6 Whatever Yahweh pleased, that he has done,
in heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deeps.
7 He causes the clouds to rise from the ends of the earth.
He makes lightnings with the rain.
He brings the wind out of his treasuries.
8 He struck the firstborn of Egypt,
both of man and animal.
9 He sent signs and wonders into the middle of you, Egypt,
on Pharaoh, and on all his servants.
10 He struck many nations,
and killed mighty kings—
11 Sihon king of the Amorites,
Og king of Bashan,
and all the kingdoms of Canaan—
12 and gave their land for a heritage,
a heritage to Israel, his people.
13 Your name, Yahweh, endures forever;
your renown, Yahweh, throughout all generations.
14 For Yahweh will judge his people
and have compassion on his servants.
15 The idols of the nations are silver and gold,
the work of men’s hands.
16 They have mouths, but they can’t speak.
They have eyes, but they can’t see.
17 They have ears, but they can’t hear,
neither is there any breath in their mouths.
18 Those who make them will be like them,
yes, everyone who trusts in them.
19 House of Israel, praise Yahweh!
House of Aaron, praise Yahweh!
20 House of Levi, praise Yahweh!
You who fear Yahweh, praise Yahweh!
21 Blessed be Yahweh from Zion,
who dwells in Jerusalem.
Praise Yah!

He Whakamoemiti mō te Pai me te Kaha o Ihowā
1 Whakamoemititia a Ihowā!
Whakamoemititia te ingoa o Ihowā;
whakamoemititia ia, e ngā pononga a Ihowā,
2 e koutou e tū nei i roto i te whare o Ihowā,
i ngā marae o te whare o tō tātou Atua.
3 Whakamoemititia a Ihowā; he pai hoki a Ihowā;
hīmene atu ki tōna ingoa; he mea āhuareka hoki tēnā.
4 Kua whiriwhiria hoki e Ihowā a Hākopa māna,
a Īharaira hei tino taonga mōna.
5 E mātau ana hoki ahau he nui a Ihowā;
kei runga atu hoki tō tātou Ariki i ngā atua katoa.
6 Ko ngā mea katoa i pai ai a Ihowā, kua oti i a ia,
i te rangi, i te whenua,
i ngā moana, i ngā wāhi hōhonu katoa.
7 Nāna i pupū ake ai ngā kohu i ngā pito o te whenua;
i hangā e ia ngā uira mō te ua;
e whakaputaina mai ana e ia te hau i roto i ōna whare taonga.
8 Nāna nei i patu ngā mātāmua o Īhipa,
a te tangata, a te kararehe;
9 i tonoa e ia he tohu, he merekara
ki waenganui ōu, e Īhipa;
ki runga ki a Parao rātou ko āna pononga katoa.
10 Nāna i patu ngā iwi maha,
i whakamate ngā kīngi rarahi –
11 a Hihona kīngi o ngā Amori,
a Oka kīngi o Pahana,
me ngā rangatiratanga katoa o Kanaana –
12 ā, hōmai ana e ia tō rātou whenua hei kāinga pūmau,
hei kāinga pūmau mō Īharaira, mō tāna iwi.
13 E Ihowā, pūmau tonu tōu ingoa,
me tōu maharatanga, e Ihowā, ki ngā whakatupuranga katoa.
14 Ka whakawā hoki a Ihowā mō tāna iwi;
ā, ka puta kē tōna whakaaro ki āna pononga.
15 He hiriwa, he kōura ngā whakapakoko a ngā tauiwi,
he mahi nā te ringa tāngata.
16 He māngai ō rātou, ā, kāhore e kōrero;
he kanohi ō rātou, ā, kāhore e kite;
17 he taringa ō rātou, ā, kāhore e rongo,
kāhore anō he manawa i ō rātou māngai.
18 Ka rite ki a rātou te hunga nāna rātou i hanga;
āe, me ngā tāngata katoa e whakawhirinaki ana ki a rātou.
19 Whakapaingia a Ihowā, e te whare o Īharaira!
Whakapaingia a Ihowā, e te whare o Ārona!
20 Whakapaingia a Ihowā, e te whare o Rīwai!
Whakapaingia a Ihowā, e te hunga katoa e wehi ana i a Ihowā!
21 Kia whakapaingia a Ihowā i roto i Hiona,
e noho nei i Hiruhārama.
Whakapaingia a Ihowā!
