Salmos 140

MRI2012

For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by David.

1 Deliver me, Yahweh, from evil men.

Preserve me from violent men:

2 those who devise mischief in their hearts.

They continually gather themselves together for war.

3 They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent.

Viper’s poison is under their lips. Selah.

4 Yahweh, keep me from the hands of the wicked.

Preserve me from the violent men who have determined to trip my feet.

5 The proud have hidden a snare for me,

they have spread the cords of a net by the path.

They have set traps for me. Selah.

6 I said to Yahweh, "You are my God."

Listen to the cry of my petitions, Yahweh.

7 Yahweh, the Lord, the strength of my salvation,

you have covered my head in the day of battle.

8 Yahweh, don’t grant the desires of the wicked.

Don’t let their evil plans succeed, or they will become proud. Selah.

9 As for the head of those who surround me,

let the mischief of their own lips cover them.

10 Let burning coals fall on them.

Let them be thrown into the fire,

into miry pits, from where they never rise.

11 An evil speaker won’t be established in the earth.

Evil will hunt the violent man to overthrow him.

12 I know that Yahweh will maintain the cause of the afflicted,

and justice for the needy.

13 Surely the righteous will give thanks to your name.

The upright will dwell in your presence.

He Īnoi te Whakamarumaru

Ki te tino kaiwhakatangi. He hīmene Rāwiri.

1 Whakaorangia ahau, e Ihowā, i te tangata kino;

āraia atu i ahau te tangata tutū,

2 e whakaaro kino nei i ō rātou ngākau,

e whakamine nei i a rātou i ngā katoa ki te whawhai.

3 Kua whakakoia rātou arero, ānō he nākahi;

kei raro i ō rātou ngutu te wai whakamate o te neke. Hera

4 Tiakina ahau, e Ihowā, i ngā ringa o te hunga kino;

āraia atu i ahau te tangata tutū,

kua mea nei kia tutea ōku hīkoinga.

5 Kua hunā e te hunga whakakake te māhanga mōku, me ngā aho;

kua horahia e rātou he kupenga ki te taha o te ara;

kua whakapikoa e rātou he rore mōku. Hera

6 I mea ahau ki a Ihowā, "Ko koe tōku Atua."

Whakarongo, e Ihowā, ki tōku reo īnoi.

7 E Ihowā, e te Ariki, e te kaha o tōku whakaoranga,

nāu i hīpoki tōku upoko i te o te tatauranga.

8 Aua e whakaaetia, e Ihowā, ngā hiahia o te tangata kino;

kei taea tōna whakaaro korokē;

kei whakakake rātou. Hera

9 Tēnā ko te upoko o te hunga e whakapae nei i ahau,

kia hīpokina rātou e te kino o ō rātou ngutu!

10 Kia taka he waro mura ki runga ki a rātou;

kia pangā rātou ki te ahi, ki roto ki ngā poka hōhonu,

kei whakatika ake anō rātou.

11 E kore te tangata kōrero kino e whakapūmautia ki runga ki te whenua;

te kino e aruaru te tangata tutū, kia turakina atu ia ki raro.

12 E mātau ana anō ahau Ihowā e tohe te whakawā a te tangata e tūkinotia ana,

te mea hoki e rite ana ngā rawakore.

13 He pono ka whakawhetai te hunga pai ki tōu ingoa;

ka noho te hunga tika ki tōu aroaro.
