Salmos 147

1 Praise Yah,

for it is good to sing praises to our God;

for it is pleasant and fitting to praise him.

2 Yahweh builds up Jerusalem.

He gathers together the outcasts of Israel.

3 He heals the broken in heart,

and binds up their wounds.

4 He counts the number of the stars.

He calls them all by their names.

5 Great is our Lord, and mighty in power.

His understanding is infinite.

6 Yahweh upholds the humble.

He brings the wicked down to the ground.

7 Sing to Yahweh with thanksgiving.

Sing praises on the harp to our God,

8 who covers the sky with clouds,

who prepares rain for the earth,

who makes grass grow on the mountains.

9 He provides food for the livestock,

and for the young ravens when they call.

10 He doesn’t delight in the strength of the horse.

He takes no pleasure in the legs of a man.

11 Yahweh takes pleasure in those who fear him,

in those who hope in his loving kindness.

12 Praise Yahweh, Jerusalem!

Praise your God, Zion!

13 For he has strengthened the bars of your gates.

He has blessed your children within you.

14 He makes peace in your borders.

He fills you with the finest of the wheat.

15 He sends out his commandment to the earth.

His word runs very swiftly.

16 He gives snow like wool,

and scatters frost like ashes.

17 He hurls down his hail like pebbles.

Who can stand before his cold?

18 He sends out his word, and melts them.

He causes his wind to blow, and the waters flow.

19 He shows his word to Jacob,

his statutes and his ordinances to Israel.

20 He has not done this for just any nation.

They don’t know his ordinances.

2 Ko Ihowā hei hanga i Hiruhārama;

māna hoki ngā whati o Īharaira e kohikohi.

3 Ko ia hei rongoā i te hunga ngākau marū;

māna e takai ō rātou wāhi mamae.

4 E taua ana e ia ngā whetū, te maha;

e huaina ana hoki e ia ō rātou ingoa katoa.

5 He nui tō tātou Ariki, he nui hoki tōna kaha;

e kore e taea tōna mātauranga te whakaaro.

6 Ko Ihowā te kaitautoko mō te hunga māhaki;

ka turakina e ia te hunga kino ki te whenua.

7 Waiata, whakawhetai ki a Ihowā;

hīmene i runga i te hāpa ki tō tātou Atua.

8 Ko ia nei te kaiuwhi i te rangi ki ngā kapua,

te kaihanga i te ua mō te whenua;

e whakatupu ana ia i te tarutaru ki runga ki ngā maunga.

9 E hōmai ana e ia he kai mā te kīrehe;

mā ngā pī raweni hoki ina tangi.

10 E kore ia e āhuareka ki te kaha o te hōiho;

e kore ia e manako ki ngā waewae o te tangata.

11 E manako ana a Ihowā ki te hunga e wehi ana i a ia,

ki te hunga e tūmanako ana ki tōna aroha.

12 Whakamoemititia a Ihowā, e Hiruhārama!

Whakamoemititia tōu Atua, e Hiona!

13 Nāna nei hoki i whakakaha ngā tūtaki o ōu tatau;

manaakitia ana e ia āu tamariki i roto i a koe.

14 Nāna anō i mau ai te rongo i roto i ōu rohe;

nāna koe i mākona ai i te wīti pai rawa.

15 E tukua ana e ia tāna kupu ki te whenua;

tere rawa te rere o tāna kupu.

16 E hōmai ana e ia te hukarere ānō he huruhuru hipi;

e whakatītaritaria ana te haupapa ānō he pungarehu.

17 Makā mai ana e ia tāna hauhunga ānō he maramara –

ko wai e tū i mua i tāna mātao?

18 E tukua ana e ia tāna kupu, ā, whakarewaina ana aua mea;

ka meinga tāna hau kia pupuhi, rere ana ngā wai.

19 E whakakitea ana e ia tāna kupu ki a Hākopa;

āna tikanga, me āna whakaritenga ki a Īharaira.

20 Kāhore i pērā tāna hanga ki tētahi iwi;

kīhai anō āna whakaritenga i mōhiotia e rātou.
