A meditation by David, which he sang to Yahweh, concerning the words of Cush, the Benjamite.
1 Yahweh, my God, I take refuge in you.
Save me from all those who pursue me, and deliver me,
2 lest they tear apart my soul like a lion,
ripping it in pieces, while there is no one to deliver.
3 Yahweh, my God, if I have done this,
if there is iniquity in my hands,
4 if I have rewarded evil to him who was at peace with me
(yes, I have plundered him who without cause was my adversary),
5 let the enemy pursue my soul, and overtake it;
yes, let him tread my life down to the earth,
and lay my glory in the dust. Selah.
6 Arise, Yahweh, in your anger.
Lift up yourself against the rage of my adversaries.
Awake for me. You have commanded judgment.
7 Let the congregation of the peoples surround you.
Rule over them on high.
8 Yahweh administers judgment to the peoples.
Judge me, Yahweh, according to my righteousness,
and to my integrity that is in me.
9 Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end,
but establish the righteous;
their minds and hearts are searched by the righteous God.
10 My shield is with God,
who saves the upright in heart.
11 God is a righteous judge,
yes, a God who has indignation every day.
12 If a man doesn’t repent, he will sharpen his sword;
he has bent and strung his bow.
13 He has also prepared for himself the instruments of death.
He makes ready his flaming arrows.
14 Behold,7:14 "Behold", from "הִנֵּה", means look at, take notice, observe, see, or gaze at. It is often used as an interjection. he travails with iniquity.
Yes, he has conceived mischief,
and brought out falsehood.
15 He has dug a hole,
and has fallen into the pit which he made.
16 The trouble he causes shall return to his own head.
His violence shall come down on the crown of his own head.
17 I will give thanks to Yahweh according to his righteousness,
and will sing praise to the name of Yahweh Most High.

He Īnoi Āwhina mō ngā Tūkino a ngā Kaiwhakawhiu
He Hikaiono nā Rāwiri, tāna i waiata ai ki a Ihowā mō ngā kupu a Kuhu Pineamine.
1 E Ihowā, e tōku Atua, kei a koe tōku whakawhirinakitanga;
kia ora ahau i te hunga katoa e aru ana i ahau,
kia mawhiti atu hoki ahau;
2 kei haehae ia i tōku wairua, ānō he raiona,
ā, tītaritari noa, i te mea kāhore he kaiārai.
3 E Ihowā, e tōku Atua, ki te mea nāku tēnā mahi,
ki te mea he hara kei ōku ringa;
4 ki te mea i whakahokia e ahau he kino ki te tangata kua mau nei tā māua rongo;
i whakaora nei hoki ahau i te tangata i kino noa mai ki ahau;
5 kia arumia tōku wairua e te hoariri, ā, kia mau;
kia takahia hoki tōku ora e ia ki te whenua,
kia whakatakotoria anō tōku korōria ki te puehu. Hera
6 E Ihowā, whakatika, kia riri koe, ara ake,
e nanā nei hoki ōku hoa whawhai;
kia oho ake hoki koe mōku; kua kīia e koe te whakawā.
7 Tukua kia karapotia koe e te whakaminenga o ngā iwi;
mā runga atu i a rātou tōu hokinga atu ki runga.
8 Ko Ihowā e whakarite whakawā ana mō ngā iwi;
kia rite, e Ihowā, tāu whakawā mōku ki tāku mahi tika,
ki te tapatahi hoki o ōku whakaaro.
9 Kia whakamutua te kino o te hunga kino;
whakaūkia hoki te tangata tika;
e whakamātautau ana hoki te Atua tika i ngā ngākau,
i ngā whatumanawa.
10 Kei te Atua tōku whakangungu rākau,
māna e whakaora te hunga ngākau tika.
11 He kaiwhakawā tika te Atua, āe rā,
he Atua e riri ana i tēnei rā, i tēnei rā.
12 Ki te kore tētahi e tahuri,
ka whakakoia e ia tāna hoari;
kua whakapikoa e ia tāna kōpere,
ā, oti rawa te whakapai.
13 Oti rawa anō āna mea whakamate te whakapai e ia;
kua meinga e ia āna pere ānō he ahi.
14 Nanā, he kino te mea e whakamamae nei ia;
he whanokē te mea i hapū ki roto ki a ia,
ā, whānau ake he teka.
15 I pokaia e ia he poka, he mea keri nāna,
