By David.
1 Blessed be Yahweh, my rock,
who trains my hands to war,
and my fingers to battle—
2 my loving kindness, my fortress,
my high tower, my deliverer,
my shield, and he in whom I take refuge,
who subdues my people under me.
3 Yahweh, what is man, that you care for him?
Or the son of man, that you think of him?
4 Man is like a breath.
His days are like a shadow that passes away.
5 Part your heavens, Yahweh, and come down.
Touch the mountains, and they will smoke.
6 Throw out lightning, and scatter them.
Send out your arrows, and rout them.
7 Stretch out your hand from above,
rescue me, and deliver me out of great waters,
out of the hands of foreigners,
8 whose mouths speak deceit,
whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood.
9 I will sing a new song to you, God.
On a ten-stringed lyre, I will sing praises to you.
10 You are he who gives salvation to kings,
who rescues David, his servant, from the deadly sword.
11 Rescue me, and deliver me out of the hands of foreigners,
whose mouths speak deceit,
whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood.
12 Then our sons will be like well-nurtured plants,
our daughters like pillars carved to adorn a palace.
13 Our barns are full, filled with all kinds of provision.
Our sheep produce thousands and ten thousands in our fields.
14 Our oxen will pull heavy loads.
There is no breaking in, and no going away,
and no outcry in our streets.
15 Happy are the people who are in such a situation.
Happy are the people whose God is Yahweh.

Te Īnoi o tētahi Kīngi
Nā Rāwiri.
1 Kia whakapaingia a Ihowā, tōku kāmaka,
e whakaako nei i ōku ringa ki te whawhai,
i ōku maihao ki te tatau;
2 ko te atawhai mōku, ko tōku pā,
ko tōku pourewa me tōku kaiwhakaora,
ko tōku whakangungu rākau, ko tāku e whakawhirinaki ai,
ko te kaipēhi hoki o tōku iwi ki raro i ahau.
3 E Ihowā, he aha te tangata i maharatia ai ia e koe,
te tama rānei a te tangata i whakaaroa ai ia e koe?
4 Ko te rite o te tangata kei te mea memeha noa;
ōna rā me te mea he ātārangi e rere atu ana.
5 Whakapikoa iho ōu rangi e Ihowā, ā, heke iho;
pā ki ngā maunga, ā, ka pongere.
6 Kōkiritia mai he uira hei whakamarara i a rātou;
kōperea mai āu pere, kia whati ai rātou.
7 Totoro iho tōu ringa i runga;
tangohia ahau, whakaorangia ahau i ngā wai nunui,
i te ringa o ngā tāngata kē;
8 e kōrero teka nei tō rātou māngai,
ā, he ringa matau teka tō rātou ringa matau.
9 Ka waiatatia e ahau he waiata hou ki a koe, e te Atua;
11 Tangohia ahau, whakaorangia hoki
i ngā ringa o ngā tāngata kē,
e kōrero teka nei ō rātou māngai,
ā, he ringa matau teka tō rātou ringa matau.
12 Ā, kia rite ā mātou tama i tō rātou taitamarikitanga
ki ngā māhuri e tupu ake ana;
ā mātou tamāhine hoki ki ngā kōhatu kokonga,
whakapaipai rawa, nō te whare rangatira te tauira.
13 Kia kī ā mātou pākoro,
mō te tiki noa atu i tēnā mea, i tēnā mea;
kia mano, kia tini ngā hua o ā mātou hipi i ō mātou pārae;
14 kia taimaha ā mātou kau i ngā pīkaunga.
Kia kāhore he pākarutanga mai ki roto,
he whatinga atu hoki ki waho,
ā, kia kāhore he auē i ō mātou huarahi.
15 Ka hari te iwi e pēnā ana;
āe, ka hari te iwi ko Ihowā nei tō rātou Atua.
