Salmos 79

MRI2012

A Psalm by Asaph.

1 God, the nations have come into your inheritance.

They have defiled your holy temple.

They have laid Jerusalem in heaps.

2 They have given the dead bodies of your servants to be food for the birds of the sky,

the flesh of your saints to the animals of the earth.

3 They have shed their blood like water around Jerusalem.

There was no one to bury them.

4 We have become a reproach to our neighbors,

a scoffing and derision to those who are around us.

5 How long, Yahweh?

Will you be angry forever?

Will your jealousy burn like fire?

6 Pour out your wrath on the nations that don’t know you,

on the kingdoms that don’t call on your name,

7 for they have devoured Jacob,

and destroyed his homeland.

8 Don’t hold the iniquities of our forefathers against us.

Let your tender mercies speedily meet us,

for we are in desperate need.

9 Help us, God of our salvation, for the glory of your name.

Deliver us, and forgive our sins, for your names sake.

10 Why should the nations say, "Where is their God?"

Let it be known among the nations, before our eyes,

that vengeance for your servantsblood is being poured out.

11 Let the sighing of the prisoner come before you.

According to the greatness of your power, preserve those who are sentenced to death.

12 Pay back to our neighbors seven times into their bosom

their reproach with which they have reproached you, Lord.

13 So we, your people and sheep of your pasture,

will give you thanks forever.

We will praise you forever, to all generations.

He Tangi ā-Iwi

He hīmene Āhapa.

1 E te Atua, kua tae mai ngā tauiwi ki tōu kāinga tupu;

kua noa i a rātou tōu temepara tapu,

kua waiho a Hiruhārama kia pūranga kau ana.

2 Ko ngā tinana mate o āu pononga kua hoatu e rātou

hei kai ngā manu o te rangi,

ko te kikokiko o tāu hunga tapu ngā kīrehe o te whenua.

3 Ko ō rātou toto, ringihia ake e rātou ānō he wai,

ki ngā taha o Hiruhārama;

kāhore hoki he tangata hei tanu i a rātou.

4 Kua waiho mātou hei tāwainga ō mātou hoa,

hei katanga te hunga i tētahi taha, i tētahi taha o mātou.

5 Kia pēhea te roa, e Ihowā?

E riri tonu rānei koe ake ake?

E ngiha tonu rānei tōu hae me he kāpura?

6 Ringihia tōu riri ki ngā tauiwi

kāhore nei e mātau ki a koe,

ki ngā rangatiratanga

kāhore nei e karanga ki tōu ingoa.

7 Kua pau hoki a Hākopa i a rātou,

kua ururua i a rātou tōna nohoanga.

8 Kaua e maharatia ngā kino o ō mātou tūpuna;

kia hohoro tōu aroha ki mua i a mātou;

kua whakaititia rawatia hoki mātou.

9 Āwhinatia mātou, e te Atua o mātou whakaoranga,

kia whakakorōriatia ai tōu ingoa;

whakaorangia mātou, hīpokina hoki ō mātou hara,

he mahara ki tōu ingoa.

10 Kia mea koia ngā tauiwi,

"Kei hea rātou Atua?"

Kia kite atu mātou e mātau ana ngā tauiwi

ki te whakatakinga i te toto o āu pononga i whakahekea nei.

11 Kia tae atu ki tōu aroaro te auē a te herehere;

ngā hipi hoki e hēpara nei koe, ki a koe ake ake;

ka whakakitea e mātou te whakamoemiti ki a koe,

ki ngā whakatupuranga katoa.
