A Song of Ascents; of David.

1 I was glad when they said unto me,

Let us go unto the house of Jehovah.

2 Our feet are standing

Within thy gates, O Jerusalem,

3 Jerusalem, that art builded

As a city that is compact together;

4 Whither the tribes go up, even the tribes of Jehovah,

For an ordinance for Israel,

To give thanks unto the name of Jehovah.

5 For there are set thrones for judgment,

The thrones of the house of David.

6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:

They shall prosper that love thee.

7 Peace be within thy walls,

And prosperity within thy palaces.

8 For my brethren and companions’ sakes,

I will now say, Peace be within thee.

9 For the sake of the house of Jehovah our God

I will seek thy good.

O cântare a treptelor.

Un psalm al lui David

1 Mă bucur când mi se zice:

„Haidem*Is. 2:3.Zah. 8:21. la Casa Domnului!"

2 Picioarele mi se opresc

în porțile tale, Ierusalime!

3 Ierusalime, tu ești zidit

ca o cetate făcută*2 Sam. 5:9. dintr-o bucată!

4 Acolo*Exod 23:17.Deut. 16:16. se suie semințiile, semințiile Domnului,

după legea*Exod 16:34. lui Israel,

ca să laude Numele Domnului.

5 Căci*Deut. 17:8.2 Cron. 19:8. acolo sunt scaunele de domnie pentru judecată,

scaunele de domnie ale casei lui David.

6 Rugați-vă*Ps. 51:18. pentru pacea Ierusalimului!

Cei ce te iubesc să se bucure de odihnă.

7 Pacea să fie între zidurile tale

și liniștea, în casele tale domnești!

8 Din pricina fraților și a prietenilor mei,

doresc pacea în sânul tău.

9 Din pricina Casei Domnului Dumnezeului nostru,

fac urări pentru fericirea*Neem. 2:10. ta.
