2 Livra-me porque sempre fazes o que é justo. Responde-me depressa. Inclina-te para ouvires a minha súplica. Que sejas para mim como uma rocha bem segura,como uma casa onde esteja em perfeita segurança.
3 Sim, com efeito tu és a minha rocha,o lugar forte onde me abrigo. Por isso te peço,por causa do prestígio do teu nome, que me guias e me encaminhes no meio dos perigos que me rodeiam.
4 Tira-me da rede que os meus inimigos me armaram para me apanhar. Só tu és a minha força.
5 Entrego o meu espírito nas tuas mãos. Tu me livraste,ó Deus, que guardas as promessas que fazes!
7 Estou radiante de alegria por teres tanta bondade,pois tiveste em consideração a minha aflição,e viste bem como a minha alma estava em crise.
8 Não me entregaste nas mãos do inimigo,antes me deste perfeita liberdade de movimentos.
10 a minha alma tanto como o corpo estão cansados de tanta tristeza. Vou-me consumindo de abatimento; esgotam-se os meus anos em aflição. Os meus pecados também me têm tirado força. Sinto-me como que comido de vergonha e tristeza.
11 Os meus inimigos fizeram atécom que os meus próprios vizinhos me desprezassem. Fogem de mim quando passo na rua.
12 Para eles sou como morto,como pedaços de louça partida, que se deitam fora.
13 Ouvi as mentiras que muitos diziam a meu respeito. Para qualquer lado que olhava, tinha medo,porque todos tramavam contra a minha vida.
14 Mas eu confiei em ti, Senhor, e disse: Tu és o meu Deus.
15 Todo o tempo da minha vida está nas tuas mãos. Livra-me dos que me perseguem.
16 Que o teu favor brilhe novamente sobre o teu servo. Que a tua misericórdia me salve.
17 Não me deixes abatido, Senhor,porque tenho chamado por ti. Os pecadores, esses sim, que sejam envergonhados,e que sejam reduzidos ao silêncio da sepultura.
18 Que os seus lábios mentirosos sejam enfim emudecidos,e que parem de dizer toda a espécie de coisasem desprezo dos que praticam a justiça,e coisas que mostram o seu orgulho.
19 Como é grande a bondade que publicamente demonstrastepara com aqueles que te respeitam, e que confiam em ti!
21 Bendito é o Senhor,porque já me mostrou o seu amor, um amor que nunca falha, maravilhoso,que me protege como as muralhas duma fortaleza.
22 Falei precipitadamente quando disse: O Senhor desamparou-me, porque afinal tu sempre ouviste a minha súplicaquando chamei por ti.
23 Amem o Senhor, todos quantos lhe pertencem. O Senhor protege os que lhe são fiéis,mas castiga severamente os que o rejeitam com soberba.
24 Vocês que confiam no Senhor,tenham, pois, coragem, e o Senhor dará força ao vosso coração.
1 In thee, O Yahweh, have I sought refuge, Let me not be ashamed to times age-abiding, In thy righteousness, deliver me:
2 Incline unto me, thine ear, Speedily rescue me,Become to me a Rock of refuge, a Place of security, For saving me.
3 Because, my mountain crag and my stronghold, thou art, Therefore, for the sake of thine own Name, wilt thou lead me and guide me?
4 Wilt thou bring me forth, out of the net which they have hidden for me? For, thou, art my refuge.
5 Into thy hand, do I commit my spiritThou hast ransomed me, O Yahweh, GOD most faithful.
6 I hate such as give heed to false vanities, I, then, in Yahweh, have set my hope.
7 I will indeed exult and rejoice, in thy lovingkindness,In that thou hast looked upon my humiliation, thou hast taken note that in distresses was my life;
8 And hast not shut me up in the hand of the foe, Thou hast given standing, in a roomy place, unto my feet.
9 Show me favour, O Yahweh, for in distress am I,Wasted with vexation, is mine eyemy soul and my body;
10 For, consumed with sorrow, is my life, and my years with sighing,My strength hath staggered with my humiliation, and, my bones, are without marrow.
11 By reason of all mine adversaries, have I become a reproach. Even to my neighbours, altogether, and a dread to mine acquaintance,They who have seen me abroad, have fled from me:
12 I have been forgotten, like one deadout of mind, I have been as a missing vessel.
13 For I have heard the whispering of manyA terror round about! When they have sat in conclave together against me, to take away my life, have they intrigued.
14 I, therefore. in thee, have put ray trust, O Yahweh, I have said, My God, thou art!
15 In thy hand, are my times, Rescue me from the hand of my foes and from my pursuers!
16 Cause thy face to shine upon thy servant, Save me in thy lovingkindness.
17 O Yahweh! let me not be ashamed, For I have called upon thee, Let the lawless ha ashamed, go down in silence to hades!
18 Let false lips be made dumb,which are speakingagainst a righteous onearrogantly, with pride and contempt.
19 How great is thy goodness, which thou hast hidden away for them who revere thee,Thou hast wrought for them who seek refuge in thee, in sight of the sons of men.
20 Thou wilt conceal them, in the secrecy of thine own presence, from the conspiracies of men,Thou wilt hide them in a pavilion, from the strife of tongues.
21 Blessed be Yahweh, for he hath made wonderful his lovingkindness for me, in a fortified city.
22 But, I, had said in mine alarm, I am cut off from before thine eyes,But, indeed, thou didst hear the voice of my supplication, when I cried for help unto thee.
23 Love Yahweh, all ye his men of lovingkindness,Faithfulness, doth Yahweh observe, but repayeth abundantly him that worketh proudly.
24 Be strong, and let your heart be bold, all ye who are waiting for Yahweh.
