A Song; a Psalm of Asaph.

1 O God*GodHebrew: Elohim keep not silence; hold not thy peace, and be not still, O ·God*GodHebrew: El2 For behold, thine enemies make a tumult; and they that hate thee lift up the head. 3 They take crafty counsel against thy people, and consult against thy hidden ones: 4 They say, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, and let the name of Israel be mentioned no more. 5 For they have consulted together with one heart: they have made an alliance together against thee. 6 The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagarites; 7 Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; Philistia, with the inhabitants of Tyre; 8 Asshur also is joined with them: they are an arm to the sons of Lot. Selah.

9 Do unto them as to Midian; as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the torrent of Kishon: 10 Who were destroyed at Endor; they became as dung for the ground. 11 Make their nobles as Oreb and as Zeeb; and all their chiefs as Zebah and as Zalmunna. 12 For they have said, Let us take to ourselves God’s*GodHebrew: Elohim dwelling-places in possession. 13 O my God*GodHebrew: Elohim make them like a whirling thing, like stubble before the wind. 14 As fire burneth a forest, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire, 15 So pursue them with thy tempest, and terrify them with thy whirlwind. 16 Fill their faces with shame, that they may seek thy name, O Jehovah. 17 Let them be put to shame and be dismayed for ever, and let them be confounded and perish: 18 That they may know that thou alone, whose name is Jehovah, art the Most High over all the earth.

O cântare. Un psalm al lui Asaf

1 Dumnezeule, nu*Ps. 28:1;35:22;109:1. tăcea! Nu tăcea și nu Te odihni, Dumnezeule!

2 Căci iată că vrăjmașii*Ps. 2:1.Fapte 4:25. Tăi se frământă

și cei ce Te*Ps. 81:15. urăsc înalță capul.

3 Fac planuri pline de vicleșug împotriva*Ps. 27:5;31:20. poporului Tău

și se sfătuiesc împotriva celor ocrotiți de Tine.

4 „Veniți", zic ei, „să-i*Est. 3:6,9.Ier. 11:19;31:36. nimicim din mijlocul neamurilor,

ca să nu se mai pomenească numele lui Israel!"

5 Se strâng toți cu o inimă,

fac un legământ împotriva Ta:

6 corturile*2 Cron. 20:1,10,11. lui Edom și ismaeliții,

Moabul și hagareniții,

7 Ghebal, Amon, Amalec,

filistenii cu locuitorii Tirului.

8 Asiria se unește și ea cu ei

și își împrumută brațul ei copiilor lui Lot. (Oprire)

9 Fă-le ca lui Madian*Num. 31:7.Jud. 7:22.,

ca lui Sisera*Jud. 4:15,24;5:21., ca lui Iabin la pârâul Chison,

10 care au fost nimiciți la En-Dor

și au ajuns*2 Împ. 9:37.Ţef. 1:17. un gunoi pentru îngrășarea pământului.

11 Căpeteniilor lor fă-le ca lui Oreb*Jud. 7:25. și Zeeb,

și tuturor domnilor lor, ca lui Zebah*Jud. 8:12,21. și Țalmuna!

12 Căci ei zic: „Să punem mâna

pe locuințele lui Dumnezeu!"

13 Dumnezeule*Is. 17:13,14., fă-i ca vârtejul de praf,

ca*Ps. 35:5. paiul luat de vânt,

14 ca focul care arde pădurea

și ca flacăra care aprinde*Deut. 32:22. munții!

15 Urmărește-i astfel cu*Iov 9:17. furtuna Ta

și bagă groaza în ei cu vijelia Ta!

16 Acoperă-le*Ps. 35:4,26. fața de rușine,

ca să caute Numele Tău, Doamne!

17 Să fie rușinați și îngroziți pe vecie,

să le roșească obrazul de rușine și să piară!

18 Ca*Ps. 59:13. să știe că numai Tu, al cărui Nume*Exod 6:3. este Domnul,

Tu ești Cel Preaînalt*Ps. 92:8. pe tot pământul.
