1 As the hart panteth after the water-brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God*GodHebrew: Elohim2 My soul thirsteth for God*GodHebrew: Elohim for the living ·God*GodHebrew: El when shall I come and appear before God*GodHebrew: Elohim3 My tears have been my bread day and night, while they say unto me all the day, Where is thy God*GodHebrew: Elohim4 These things I remember and have poured out my soul within me: how I passed along with the multitude, how I went on with them to the house of God*GodHebrew: Elohim with the voice of joy and praise, a festive multitude. 5 Why art thou cast down, my soul, and art disquieted in me? hope in God*GodHebrew: Elohim for I shall yet praise him, for the health of his countenance.

6 My God*GodHebrew: Elohim my soul is cast down within me; therefore do I remember thee from the land of the Jordan, and the Hermons, from mount Mizar. 7 Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy cataracts; all thy breakers and thy billows are gone over me. 8 In the day-time will Jehovah command his loving-kindness, and in the night his song shall be with me, a prayer unto the ·God*GodHebrew: El of my life. 9 I will say unto ·God*GodHebrew: El my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? 10 As with a crushing in my bones mine adversaries reproach me, while they say unto me all the day, Where is thy God*GodHebrew: Elohim11 Why art thou cast down, my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God*GodHebrew: Elohim for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God*GodHebrew: Elohim

1 Cum dorește un cerb izvoarele de apă,

așa Te dorește sufletul meu pe Tine, Dumnezeule!

2 Sufletul*Ps. 63:1;84:2.Ioan 7:37. meu însetează după Dumnezeu, după Dumnezeul cel*1 Tes. 1:9. viu;

când mă voi duce și mă voi arăta înaintea lui Dumnezeu?

3 Cu lacrimi*Ps. 80:5;102:9. mă hrănesc zi și noapte,

când mi se zice fără încetare*Vers. 10.Ps. 79:10.Ps. 115:2.: „Unde este Dumnezeul tău?"

4 Mi-aduc aminte și-mi vărs*Iov 30:16.Ps. 62:8. tot focul inimii în mine

când mă gândesc cum mergeam înconjurat de mulțime

și cum înaintam*Is. 30:29. în fruntea ei spre Casa lui Dumnezeu,

în mijlocul strigătelor de bucurie și mulțumire

ale unei mulțimi în sărbătoare.

5 Pentru ce*Vers. 11.Ps. 43:5. te mâhnești, suflete, și gemi înăuntrul meu?

Nădăjduiește*Plâng. 3:24. în Dumnezeu, căci iarăși Îl voi lăuda;

El este mântuirea mea și Dumnezeul meu.

6 Îmi este mâhnit sufletul în mine, Dumnezeule,

de aceea la Tine mă gândesc din țara Iordanului,

din Hermon și din muntele Mițear.

7 Un val*Ier. 4:20.Ezec. 7:26. cheamă un alt val la vuietul căderii apelor Tale;

toate*Ps. 88:7.Iona 2:3. talazurile și valurile Tale trec peste mine.

8 Ziua, Domnul îmi dădea*Lev. 25:21.Deut. 28:8.Ps. 133:3. îndurarea Lui,

iar noaptea*Iov 35:10.Ps. 32:7;63:6;149:5., cântam laudele Lui

și înălțam o rugăciune Dumnezeului vieții mele.

9 De aceea zic lui Dumnezeu, Stânca mea: „Pentru ce mă uiți?

Pentru ce*Ps. 38:6;43:2. trebuie să umblu plin de întristare sub apăsarea vrăjmașului?"

10 Parcă mi se sfărâmă oasele cu sabia când mă batjocoresc vrăjmașii mei

și-mi zic neîncetat*Vers. 3.Ioel 2:17.Mica 7:10.: „Unde este Dumnezeul tău?"

11 Pentru ce*Vers. 5.Ps. 43:5. te mâhnești, suflete, și gemi înăuntrul meu?

Nădăjduiește în Dumnezeu, căci iarăși Îl voi lăuda;

El este mântuirea mea și Dumnezeul meu.
