A Song of degrees.

1 They that confide in Jehovah are as mount Zion, which cannot be moved; it abideth for ever. 2 Jerusalem! — mountains are round about her, and Jehovah is round about his people, from henceforth and for evermore. 3 For the sceptre of wickedness shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity.

4 Do good, O Jehovah, unto the good, and to them that are upright in their hearts. 5 But as for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways, Jehovah will lead them forth with the workers of iniquity. Peace be upon Israel!

O cântare a treptelor

1 Cei ce se încred în Domnul sunt ca muntele Sionului, care nu se clatină, ci stă întărit pe vecie.

2 Cum este înconjurat Ierusalimul de munți,

așa înconjoară Domnul pe poporul Său,

de acum și până în veac.

3 Căci toiagul*Prov. 22:8.Is. 14:5. de cârmuire al răutății nu va rămâne pe moștenirea celor neprihăniți,

pentru ca cei neprihăniți să nu întindă mâinile spre nelegiuire.

4 Doamne, varsă-Ți binefacerile peste cei buni

și peste cei cu inima fără prihană!

5 Dar pe cei ce apucă pe căi*Prov. 2:15. lăturalnice,

să-i nimicească Domnul împreună cu cei ce fac rău!

Pacea*Ps. 128:6.Gal. 6:16. să fie peste Israel!
