1 Is righteousness indeed silent? Do ye speak it? Do ye judge with equity, ye sons of men? 2 Yea, in heart ye work wickedness; ye weigh out the violence of your hands in the earth. 3 The wicked go astray from the womb; they err as soon as they are born, speaking lies. 4 Their poison is like the poison of a serpent: they are like the deaf adder which stoppeth her ear; 5 Which doth not hearken to the voice of enchanters, of one charming ever so wisely.

6 O God*GodHebrew: Elohim break their teeth in their mouth; break out the great teeth of the young lions, O Jehovah. 7 Let them melt away as waters that flow off; when he aimeth his arrows, let them be as blunted: 8 Let them be as a snail that melteth as it passeth away; like the untimely birth of a woman, let them not see the sun. 9 Before your pots feel the thorns, green or burning, — they shall be whirled away. 10 The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance; he shall wash his footsteps in the blood of the wicked: 11 And men shall say, Verily there is fruit for the righteous; verily there is a God*GodHebrew: Elohim that judgeth in the earth.

1 Oare tăcând faceți voi dreptate?

Oare așa judecați voi fără părtinire, fiii oamenilor?

2 Dimpotrivă, în inimă săvârșiți nelegiuiri;

în țară puneți în cumpănă*Ps. 94:20.Is. 10:1. silnicia mâinilor voastre.

3 Cei răi sunt stricați încă din*Ps. 51:5.Is. 48:8. pântecele mamei lor,

mincinoșii se rătăcesc odată cu ieșirea din pântecele mamei lor.

4 Au o otravă*Ps. 140:3.Ecl. 10:11. ca otrava unui șarpe,

ca otrava unei aspide*Ier. 8:17. surde, care își astupă urechea,

5 care n-aude glasul vrăjitorilor, glasul fermecătorului celui mai iscusit.

6 Dumnezeule, zdrobește-le*Iov 4:10.Ps. 3:7. dinții din gură!

Smulge, Doamne, măselele acestor pui de lei!

7 Să se risipească*Ios. 7:5.Ps. 112:10. întocmai ca niște ape care se scurg!

Săgețile pe care le-aruncă ei să fie niște săgeți tocite!

8 Să piară ca un melc care se topește umblând;

să nu vadă soarele, ca*Iov 3:16.Ecl. 6:3. stârpitura unei femei!

9 Înainte ca oalele voastre să simtă focul de spin

verde sau uscat, îl*Prov. 10:25. va lua vârtejul.

10 Cel*Ps. 52:6;64:10;107:42. fără prihană se va bucura la vederea răzbunării;

își va scălda picioarele*Ps. 68:23. în sângele celor răi.

11 Și*Ps. 92:15. atunci oamenii vor zice: „Da, este o răsplată pentru cel fără prihană!

Da, este un Dumnezeu care judecă*Ps. 67:4;96:13;98:9. pe pământ!"
