1 How amiable are thy tabernacles, O Jehovah of hosts! 2 My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of Jehovah; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living ·God*GodHebrew: El3 Yea, the sparrow hath found a house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she layeth her young, thine altars, O Jehovah of hosts, my King and my God*GodHebrew: Elohim4 Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be constantly praising thee. Selah. 5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee, — they, in whose heart are the highways. 6 Passing through the valley of Baca, they make it a well-spring; yea, the early rain covereth it with blessings. 7 They go from strength to strength: each one will appear before God*GodHebrew: Elohim in Zion.

8 Jehovah, God*GodHebrew: Elohim of hosts, hear my prayer; give ear, O God*GodHebrew: Elohim of Jacob. Selah. 9 Behold, O God*GodHebrew: Elohim our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed. 10 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather stand at the threshold of the house of my God*GodHebrew: Elohim than dwell in the tents of wickedness. 11 For Jehovah Elohim is a sun and shield: Jehovah will give grace and glory; no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. 12 Jehovah of hosts, blessed is the man that confideth in thee!

Doamne al oștirilor!

2 Sufletul*Ps. 42:1,2;63:1;73:26;119:20. meu suspină și tânjește de dor după curțile Domnului,

inima și carnea mea strigă către Dumnezeul cel viu!

3 Până și pasărea își găsește o casă acolo

și rândunica, un cuib unde își pune puii…

Ah, altarele Tale, Doamne al oștirilor,

Împăratul meu și Dumnezeul meu!

4 Ferice*Ps. 65:4. de cei ce locuiesc în Casa Ta,

căci ei tot mai pot să Te laude! (Oprire)

5 Ferice de cei ce-și pun tăria în Tine,

în a căror inimă locuiește încrederea!

6 Când străbat aceștia Valea Plângerii*2 Sam. 5:22,23., o prefac într-un loc plin de izvoare

și ploaia timpurie o acoperă cu binecuvântări.

7 Ei merg din*Prov. 4:18.2 Cor. 3:18. putere în putere

și se*Deut. 16:16.Zah. 14:16. înfățișează înaintea lui Dumnezeu în Sion.

8 Doamne, Dumnezeul oștirilor, ascultă rugăciunea mea!

Ia aminte, Dumnezeul lui Iacov! (Oprire)

9 Tu, care ești scutul nostru, vezi, Dumnezeule*Gen. 15:1. Vers. 11.,

și privește fața unsului Tău!

10 Căci mai mult face o zi în curțile Tale decât o mie în altă parte;

eu vreau mai bine să stau în pragul Casei Dumnezeului meu

decât să locuiesc în corturile răutății!

11 Căci Domnul Dumnezeu este un soare*Is. 60:19. și un scut*Gen. 15:1. Vers. 9.Ps. 115:9-11;119:114.Prov. 2:7.,

Domnul dă îndurare și slavă

și nu lipsește de niciun*Ps. 34:9,10. bine pe cei ce duc o viață fără prihană.

12 Doamne al oștirilor,

ferice*Ps. 2:12. de omul care se încrede în Tine!
