To the chief Musician. A Psalm of David.

1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God*GodHebrew: Elohim They have corrupted themselves, they have done abominable works: there is none that doeth good. 2 Jehovah looked down from the heavens upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God*GodHebrew: Elohim3 They have all gone aside, they are together become corrupt: there is none that doeth good, not even one.

4 Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, eating up my people as they eat bread? They call not upon Jehovah. 5 There were they in great fear; for God*GodHebrew: Elohim is in the generation of the righteous. 6 Ye have shamed the counsel of the afflicted, because Jehovah was his refuge. 7 Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When Jehovah turneth again the captivity of his people, Jacob shall be glad, Israel shall rejoice.

Un psalm al lui David

1 Nebunul*Ps. 10:4;53:1. zice în inima lui: „Nu este Dumnezeu!"

S-au stricat*Gen. 6:11,12.Rom. 3:10. oamenii, fac fapte urâte;

nu este niciunul care să facă binele.

2 Domnul*Ps. 33:13;102:19. Se uită de la înălțimea cerurilor peste fiii oamenilor,

să vadă de este vreunul care să aibă pricepere

și care să caute pe Dumnezeu.

3 Dar toți*Rom. 3:10-12. s-au rătăcit, toți s-au dovedit niște netrebnici;

nu este niciunul care să facă binele, niciunul măcar.

4 Și-au pierdut mintea toți cei ce săvârșesc fărădelegea

de mănâncă*Ier. 10:25.Amos 8:4.Mica 3:3. pe poporul meu cum mănâncă pâinea

și nu cheamă*Ps. 79:6.Is. 64:7. pe Domnul?

5 Ei vor tremura de spaimă

când Se va arăta Dumnezeu în mijlocul neamului neprihănit.

6 Râdeți voi de nădejdea celui nenorocit…,

dar scăparea lui este Domnul*Ps. 9:9;142:5..

7 O, de*Ps. 53:6. ar porni din Sion izbăvirea lui Israel!…

Când*Iov 42:10.Ps. 126:1. va întoarce Domnul înapoi pe prinșii de război ai poporului Său,

Iacov se va veseli și Israel se va bucura.
