1 O ·God*GodHebrew: El of vengeances, Jehovah, ·God*GodHebrew: El of vengeances, shine forth; 2 Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth, render the reward to the proud. 3 How long shall the wicked, O Jehovah, how long shall the wicked triumph? 4 How long shall they utter and speak insolence — all the workers of iniquity boast themselves? 5 They crush thy people, O Jehovah, and afflict thine inheritance; 6 They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless, 7 And say, Jah will not see, neither will the God*GodHebrew: Elohim of Jacob regard it. 8 Understand, ye brutish among the people; and ye fools, when will ye be wise? 9 He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? He that formed the eye, shall he not see? 10 He that instructeth the nations, shall not he correct — he that teacheth man knowledge? 11 Jehovah knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.

12 Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Jah, and whom thou teachest out of thy law; 13 That thou mayest give him rest from the days of evil, until the pit be digged for the wicked. 14 For Jehovah will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance; 15 For judgment shall return unto righteousness, and all the upright in heart shall follow it. 16 Who will rise up for me against the evil-doers? who will stand for me against the workers of iniquity? 17 If Jehovah had not been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence. 18 When I said, My foot slippeth, thy loving-kindness, O Jehovah, held me up. 19 In the multitude of my anxious thoughts within me thy comforts have delighted my soul. 20 Shall the throne of wickedness be united to thee, which frameth mischief into a law? 21 They band together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn innocent blood. 22 But Jehovah will be my high tower; and my God*GodHebrew: Elohim the rock of my refuge. 23 And he will bring upon them their iniquity, and will cut them off in their own evil: Jehovah our God*GodHebrew: Elohim will cut them off.

2 Scoală-Te*Ps. 7:6., Judecătorul*Gen. 18:25. pământului,

și răsplătește celor mândri după faptele lor!

3 Până*Iov 20:5. când vor birui cei răi, Doamne,

până când vor birui cei răi?

4 Ei țin*Ps. 31:18.Iuda 15. cuvântări puternice, vorbesc cu trufie

și toți cei ce fac răul se fălesc.

5 Ei zdrobesc pe poporul Tău, Doamne,

și asupresc moștenirea Ta.

6 Înjunghie pe văduvă și pe străin,

ucid pe orfani

7 și*Ps. 10:11,13;59:7. zic: „Nu vede Domnul

și Dumnezeul lui Iacov nu ia aminte!"

8 Totuși învățați-vă*Ps. 73:22;92:6. minte, oameni fără minte!

Când vă veți înțelepți, nebunilor?

9 Cel*Exod 4:11.Prov. 20:12. ce a sădit urechea s-ar putea să n-audă?

Cel ce a întocmit ochiul s-ar putea să nu vadă?

10 Cel ce pedepsește neamurile s-ar putea să nu pedepsească,

El, care*Iov 35:11.Is. 28:26. a dat omului pricepere?

11 Domnul*1 Cor. 3:20. cunoaște gândurile omului:

știe că sunt deșarte.

12 Ferice*Iov 5:17.Prov. 3:11.1 Cor. 11:32.Evr. 12:5. de omul pe care-l pedepsești Tu, Doamne,

și pe care-l înveți din Legea Ta,

13 ca să-l liniștești în zilele nenorocirii,

până se va săpa groapa celui rău!

14 Căci*1 Sam. 12:22.Rom. 11:1,2. Domnul nu lasă pe poporul Său

și nu-Și părăsește moștenirea.

15 Ci se va face odată judecata după dreptate

și toți cei cu inima curată o vor găsi bună.

16 Cine mă va ajuta împotriva celor răi?

Cine mă va sprijini împotriva celor ce fac răul?

17 De*Ps. 124:1,2. n-ar fi Domnul ajutorul meu,

cât de curând ar fi sufletul meu în tăcerea morții!

18 Ori de câte ori zic: „Mi se*Ps. 38:16. clatină piciorul",

bunătatea Ta, Doamne, mă sprijină totdeauna.

19 Când gânduri negre se frământă cu grămada înăuntrul meu,

mângâierile Tale îmi înviorează sufletul.

20 Te vor pune cei răi să șezi pe scaunul*Amos 6:3. lor de domnie,

ei, care*Ps. 58:2.Is. 10:1. pregătesc nenorocirea la adăpostul legii?

21 Ei*Mat. 27:1. se strâng împotriva vieții celui neprihănit

și osândesc*Exod 23:7.Prov. 17:15. sânge nevinovat.

22 Dar Domnul este turnul*Ps. 59:9;62:2,6. meu de scăpare,

Dumnezeul meu este stânca mea de adăpost.

23 El*Ps. 7:16.Prov. 2:22;5:22. va face să cadă asupra lor nelegiuirea,

El îi va nimici prin răutatea lor;

Domnul Dumnezeul nostru îi va nimici.
