1 Be gracious unto me, O God*GodHebrew: Elohim for man would swallow me up: all the day long fighting he oppresseth me. 2 Mine enemies would swallow me up all the day long; for they are many that fight against me haughtily. 3 In the day that I am afraid, I will confide in thee. 4 In God*GodHebrew: Elohim will I praise his word, in God*GodHebrew: Elohim I put my confidence: I will not fear; what can flesh do unto me? 5 All the day long they wrest my words; all their thoughts are against me for evil. 6 They gather themselves together, they hide themselves; they mark my steps, because they wait for my soul. 7 Shall they escape by iniquity? In anger cast down the peoples, O God*GodHebrew: Elohim

8 Thou countest my wanderings; put my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book? 9 Then shall mine enemies return backward in the day when I call: this I know, for God*GodHebrew: Elohim is for me. 10 In God*GodHebrew: Elohim will I praise his word; in Jehovah will I praise his word. 11 In God*GodHebrew: Elohim have I put my confidence: I will not fear; what can man do unto me? 12 Thy vows are upon me, O God*GodHebrew: Elohim I will render thanks unto thee. 13 For thou hast delivered my soul from death; wilt thou not keep my feet from falling, that I may walk before God*GodHebrew: Elohim in the light of the living?

Făcută când l-au prins filistenii la Gat

1 Ai milă*Ps. 5:1. de mine, Dumnezeule, căci niște oameni mă hărțuiesc!

Toată ziua îmi fac război și mă chinuiesc.

2 Toată ziua mă hărțuiesc*Ps. 57:3. potrivnicii mei;

sunt mulți și se războiesc cu mine ca niște trufași.

3 Ori de câte ori mă tem,

eu mă încred în Tine.

4 Eu mă voi lăuda cu*Vers. 10,11. Dumnezeu, cu Cuvântul Lui.

Mă încred în Dumnezeu

și nu*Ps. 118:6.Is. 31:3.Evr. 13:6. mă tem de nimic.

Ce pot să-mi facă niște oameni?

5 Întruna ei îmi ating drepturile

și n-au decât gânduri rele față de mine.

6 Uneltesc*Ps. 59:3;140:2., pândesc și îmi urmăresc pașii,

pentru că*Ps. 71:10. vor să-mi ia viața.

7 Ei trag nădejde să scape prin nelegiuirea lor:

doboară popoarele, Dumnezeule, în mânia Ta!

8 Tu numeri pașii vieții mele de pribeag;

pune-mi lacrimile în burduful Tău!

Nu sunt ele*Mal. 3:16. scrise în cartea Ta?

9 Vrăjmașii mei dau înapoi în ziua când Te strig:

știu că Dumnezeu este de*Rom. 8:31. partea mea.

10 Eu mă voi lăuda cu*Vers. 4. Dumnezeu, cu Cuvântul Lui, da, mă voi lăuda cu Domnul, cu Cuvântul Lui.

11 Mă încred în Dumnezeu și nu mă tem de nimic.

Ce pot să-mi facă niște oameni?

12 Dumnezeule, trebuie să împlinesc juruințele pe care Ți le-am făcut;

Îți voi aduce jertfe de mulțumire.

13 Căci mi-ai izbăvit sufletul de la*Ps. 116:8. moarte,

mi-ai ferit picioarele de cădere,

ca să umblu înaintea lui Dumnezeu,

în lumina*Iov 33:30. celor vii.
