1 Jehovah, rebuke me not in thine anger, and chasten me not in thy hot displeasure. 2 Be gracious unto me, Jehovah, for I am withered; Jehovah, heal me, for my bones tremble. 3 And my soul trembleth exceedingly: and thou, Jehovah, till how long? 4 Return, Jehovah, free my soul; save me for thy loving-kindness' sake. 5 For in death there is no remembrance of thee; in Sheol who shall give thanks unto thee? 6 I am wearied with my groaning; all the night make I my bed to swim; I dissolve my couch with my tears. 7 Mine eye wasteth away through grief; it hath grown old because of all mine oppressors.

8 Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; for Jehovah hath heard the voice of my weeping. 9 Jehovah hath heard my supplication; Jehovah receiveth my prayer. 10 All mine enemies shall be ashamed and tremble exceedingly; they will turn, they will be ashamed suddenly.

1 Doamne*Ps. 38:1.Ier. 10:24;46:28., nu mă pedepsi cu mânia Ta

și nu mă mustra cu urgia Ta!

2 Ai milă*Ps. 41:4. de mine, Doamne, căci mă ofilesc!

Vindecă-mă*Osea 6:1., Doamne, căci îmi tremură oasele!

3 Sufletul mi-e îngrozit de tot.

Și Tu, Doamne, până când*Ps. 90:13. vei zăbovi să Te înduri de mine?

4 Întoarce-Te, Doamne, izbăvește-mi sufletul!

Mântuiește-mă, pentru îndurarea Ta!

5 Căci cel ce moare*Ps. 30:9;88:11;115:17;118:17.Is. 38:18. nu-și mai aduce aminte de Tine

și cine Te va lăuda în Locuința morților?

6 Nu mai pot gemând!

În fiecare noapte îmi stropesc așternutul

și-mi scald patul în lacrimi.

7 Mi s-a supt fața*Iov 17:7.Ps. 31:9;38:10;88:9.Plâng. 5:17. de întristare

și a îmbătrânit din pricina tuturor celor ce mă prigonesc.

8 Depărtați-vă*Ps. 119:115.Mat. 7:23;25:41.Luca 13:27. de la mine toți cei ce faceți răul,

căci Domnul a auzit*Ps. 3:4. glasul plângerii mele!

9 Domnul îmi ascultă cererile

și Domnul îmi primește rugăciunea!

10 Toți vrăjmașii mei vor fi acoperiți de rușine și cuprinși de spaimă;

într-o clipă vor da înapoi, acoperiți de rușine.
