1 Save me, O God*GodHebrew: Elohim for the waters are come in unto my soul. 2 I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing; I am come into the depths of waters, and the flood overfloweth me. 3 I am weary with my crying, my throat is parched; mine eyes fail while I wait for my God*GodHebrew: Elohim4 They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head; they that would destroy me, being mine enemies wrongfully, are mighty: then I restored that which I took not away. 5 Thou, O God*GodHebrew: Elohim knowest my foolishness, and my trespasses are not hidden from thee. 6 Let not them that wait on thee, Lord, Jehovah of hosts, be ashamed through me; let not those that seek thee be confounded through me, O God*GodHebrew: Elohim of Israel. 7 Because for thy sake I have borne reproach; confusion hath covered my face. 8 I am become a stranger unto my brethren, and an alien unto my mother’s sons; 9 For the zeal of thy house hath devoured me, and the reproaches of them that reproach thee have fallen upon me. 10 And I wept, my soul was fasting: that also was to my reproach; — 11 And I made sackcloth my garment: then I became a proverb to them. 12 They that sit in the gate talk of me, and I am the song of the drunkards.

13 But as for me, my prayer is unto thee, Jehovah, in an acceptable time: O God*GodHebrew: Elohim in the abundance of thy loving-kindness answer me, according to the truth of thy salvation: 14 Deliver me out of the mire, let me not sink; let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the depths of waters. 15 Let not the flood of waters overflow me, neither let the deep swallow me up; and let not the pit shut its mouth upon me. 16 Answer me, O Jehovah; for thy loving-kindness is good: according to the abundance of thy tender mercies, turn toward me; 17 And hide not thy face from thy servant, for I am in trouble: answer me speedily. 18 Draw nigh unto my soul, be its redeemer; ransom me because of mine enemies. 19 Thou knowest my reproach, and my shame, and my dishonour: mine adversaries are all before thee. 20 Reproach hath broken my heart, and I am overwhelmed: and I looked for sympathy, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none. 21 Yea, they gave me gall for my food, and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.

22 Let their table become a snare before them, and their very welfare a trap; 23 Let their eyes be darkened, that they see not, and make their loins continually to shake. 24 Pour out thine indignation upon them, and let the fierceness of thine anger take hold of them. 25 Let their habitation be desolate; let there be no dweller in their tents. 26 For they persecute him whom thou hast smitten, and they talk for the sorrow of those whom thou hast wounded. 27 Add iniquity unto their iniquity, and let them not come into thy righteousness. 28 Let them be blotted out of the book of life, and not be written with the righteous. 29 But I am afflicted and sorrowful: let thy salvation, O God*GodHebrew: Elohim set me secure on high.

30 I will praise the name of God*GodHebrew: Elohim with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving; 31 And it shall please Jehovah more than an ox, — a bullock with horns and cloven hoofs. 32 The meek shall see it, they shall be glad; ye that seek God*GodHebrew: Elohim your heart shall live. 33 For Jehovah heareth the needy, and despiseth not his prisoners. 34 Let heavens and earth praise him; the seas, and everything that moveth therein. 35 For God*GodHebrew: Elohim will save Zion, and will build the cities of Judah; and they shall dwell there, and possess it: 36 And the seed of his servants shall inherit it, and they that love his name shall dwell therein.

1 Scapă-mă, Dumnezeule, căci*Vers. 2,14,15.Iona 2:5. îmi amenință apele viața.

2 Mă afund*Ps. 40:2. în noroi și nu mă pot ține;

am căzut în prăpastie și dau apele peste mine.

3 Nu mai pot*Ps. 6:6. strigând, mi se usucă gâtlejul,

mi se topesc*Ps. 119:82,123.Is. 38:14. ochii privind spre Dumnezeul meu.

4 Cei ce mă urăsc*Ps. 35:19.Ioan 15:25. fără temei sunt mai mulți decât perii capului meu;

ce puternici sunt cei ce vor să mă piardă,

cei ce pe nedrept îmi sunt vrăjmași;

trebuie să dau înapoi ce n-am furat.

5 Dumnezeule, Tu cunoști nebunia mea

și greșelile mele nu-Ți sunt ascunse.

6 Să nu rămână de rușine, din pricina mea, cei ce nădăjduiesc în Tine, Doamne, Dumnezeul oștirilor!

Să nu roșească de rușine, din pricina mea, cei ce Te caută, Dumnezeul lui Israel!

7 Căci pentru Tine port eu ocara

și îmi acoperă fața rușinea.

8 Am ajuns*Ps. 31:11.Is. 53:3.Ioan 1:11;7:5. un străin pentru frații mei

și un necunoscut pentru fiii mamei mele.

9 Căci*Ps. 119:139.Ioan 2:17. râvna Casei Tale mă mănâncă

și*Ps. 89:50,51.Rom. 15:3. ocările celor ce Te ocărăsc pe Tine cad asupra mea.

10 Plâng și*Ps. 35:13,14. postesc,

și ei mă ocărăsc.

11 Mă îmbrac cu sac,

și*1 Împ. 9:7.Ier. 24:9. ei mă batjocoresc.

12 Cei ce stau la poartă vorbesc de mine

și*Iov 30:9.Ps. 35:15,16. cei ce beau băuturi tari mă pun în cântece.

13 Dar eu către Tine îmi înalț rugăciunea, Doamne, la*Is. 49:8;55:6.2 Cor. 6:2. vremea potrivită.

În bunătatea Ta cea mare,

răspunde-mi, Dumnezeule, și dă-mi ajutorul Tău!

14 Scoate-mă din noroi, ca să nu mă mai afund!

Să*Ps. 144:7. fiu izbăvit de vrăjmașii mei și din prăpastie*Vers. 1,2,15.!

15 Să nu mai dea valurile peste mine,

să nu mă înghită adâncul

și să nu se închidă*Num. 16:33. groapa peste mine!

16 Ascultă-mă, Doamne, căci*Ps. 63:6. bunătatea Ta este nemărginită.

În îndurarea Ta cea mare, întoarce-Ți*Ps. 25:16;86:16. privirile spre mine

17 și nu-Ți ascunde*Ps. 27:9;102:2. fața de robul Tău!

Căci sunt în necaz: grăbește de m-ascultă!

18 Apropie-Te de sufletul meu și izbăvește-l!

Scapă-mă, din pricina vrăjmașilor mei!

19 Tu știi ce ocară*Ps. 22:6,7.Is. 53:3.Evr. 12:2., ce rușine și batjocură mi se face;

toți potrivnicii mei sunt înaintea Ta.

20 Ocara îmi rupe inima și sunt bolnav;

aștept să-i fie cuiva milă*Ps. 142:4.Is. 63:5. de mine, dar degeaba;

aștept mângâietori*Iov 16:2., și nu găsesc niciunul.

21 Ei îmi pun fiere în mâncare

și, când*Mat. 27:34,48.Marcu 15:23.Ioan 19:29. mi-e sete, îmi dau să beau oțet.

22 Să li se prefacă masa într-o cursă*Rom. 11:9,10.

și liniștea într-un laț!

23 Să li se întunece*Is. 6:9,10.Ioan 12:39,40. ochii și să nu mai vadă,

și clatină-le mereu coapsele!

24 Varsă-Ți*1 Tes. 2:16. mânia peste ei

și să-i atingă urgia Ta aprinsă!

25 Pustie*Mat. 23:38.Fapte 1:20. să le rămână locuința

și nimeni să nu mai locuiască în corturile lor!

26 Căci ei*2 Cron. 28:9.Zah. 1:15. prigonesc pe*Is. 53:4. cel lovit de Tine,

povestesc suferințele celor răniți de Tine.

27 Adaugă*Rom. 1:28. alte nelegiuiri la nelegiuirile lor

și*Is. 26:10.Rom. 9:31. să n-aibă parte de îndurarea Ta!

28 Să fie șterși*Exod 32:32.Filip. 4:3.Apoc. 3:5;13:8. din cartea vieții

și*Ezec. 13:9.Luca 10:20.Evr. 12:23. să nu fie scriși împreună cu cei neprihăniți!

29 Eu sunt nenorocit și sufăr:

Dumnezeule, ajutorul Tău să mă ridice!

30 Atunci voi lăuda*Ps. 28:7. Numele lui Dumnezeu prin cântări

și prin laude Îl voi preamări.

31 Lucrul acesta este mai*Ps. 50:13,14,23. plăcut Domnului decât un vițel

cu coarne și copite!

32 Nenorociții*Ps. 34:2. văd lucrul acesta și se bucură;

voi, care căutați pe Dumnezeu, veselă*Ps. 22:26. să vă fie inima!

33 Căci Domnul ascultă pe cei săraci

și nu nesocotește pe prinșii*Efes. 3:1. Lui de război.

34 Să-L laude*Ps. 96:11;148:1.Is. 44:23;49:13. cerurile și pământul,

mările și*Is. 55:12. tot ce mișună în ele!

35 Căci*Ps. 51:18.Is. 44:26. Dumnezeu va mântui Sionul și va zidi cetățile lui Iuda;

ele vor fi locuite și luate în stăpânire;

36 sămânța*Ps. 102:28. robilor Lui le va moșteni,

și cei ce iubesc Numele Lui vor locui în ele.
