dacă este fărădelege*1 Sam. 24:11. pe mâinile mele,

4 dacă am răsplătit cu rău pe cel ce trăia în pace cu mine

și n-am izbăvit*1 Sam. 24:7;26:9. pe cel ce mă asuprea fără temei,

5 atunci să mă urmărească vrăjmașul și să m-ajungă,

să-mi calce viața la pământ

6 Scoală-Te, Doamne, cu mânia Ta!

7 Să Te înconjoare adunarea popoarelor

și șezi mai sus decât ea, la înălțime!

8 Domnul judecă popoarele:

fă-mi dreptate, Doamne, după*Ps. 18:20;35:24. neprihănirea și nevinovăția mea!

9 Ah, pune odată capăt răutății celor răi și întărește pe cel neprihănit,

Tu, care cercetezi*1 Sam. 16:7.1 Cron. 28:9.Ps. 139:1.Ier. 11:20;17:10;20:12.Apoc. 2:23. inimile și rărunchii, Dumnezeule drept!

10 Scutul meu este în Dumnezeu,

care mântuiește pe cei cu inima curată*Ps. 125:4..

11 Dumnezeu este un judecător drept,

un Dumnezeu care Se mânie în orice vreme.

12 Dacă cel rău nu se întoarce la Dumnezeu, Dumnezeu Își ascute sabia*Deut. 32:41.,

Își încordează arcul și-l ochește,

13 îndreaptă asupra lui săgeți*Deut. 32:23,42.Ps. 64:7. omorâtoare

și-i aruncă săgeți arzătoare!

14 Iată că cel rău*Iov 15:35.Is. 33:11;59:4.Iac. 1:15. pregătește răul,

zămislește fărădelegea și naște înșelăciunea:

15 face o groapă, o sapă

și silnicia pe care a făcut-o se coboară înapoi pe țeasta capului lui.

17 Eu voi lăuda pe Domnul pentru dreptatea Lui

și voi cânta Numele Domnului, Numele Celui Preaînalt.
