1 Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that sittest between the cherubim, shine forth. 2 Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh, stir up thy strength, and come to our deliverance. 3 O God*GodHebrew: Elohim restore us; and cause thy face to shine, and we shall be saved. 4 Jehovah, God*GodHebrew: Elohim of hosts, how long will thine anger smoke against the prayer of thy people? 5 Thou hast fed them with the bread of tears, and given them tears to drink in large measure: 6 Thou hast made us a strife unto our neighbours, and our enemies mock among themselves. 7 Restore us, O God*GodHebrew: Elohim of hosts; and cause thy face to shine, and we shall be saved.

8 Thou broughtest a vine out of Egypt; thou didst cast out the nations, and plant it: 9 Thou preparedst space before it, and it took deep root, and filled the land; 10 The mountains were covered with its shadow, and the branches thereof were like cedars of ·God*GodHebrew: El11 It sent out its boughs unto the sea, and its shoots unto the river. 12 Why hast thou broken down its fences, so that all who pass by the way do pluck it? 13 The boar out of the forest doth waste it, and the beast of the field doth feed off it. 14 O God*GodHebrew: Elohim of hosts, return, we beseech thee; look down from the heavens, and behold, and visit this vine; 15 Even the stock which thy right hand hath planted, and the young plant thou madest strong for thyself. 16 It is burned with fire, it is cut down; they perish at the rebuke of thy countenance. 17 Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the son of man whom thou hast made strong for thyself. 18 So will we not go back from thee. Revive us, and we will call upon thy name. 19 Restore us, O Jehovah, God*GodHebrew: Elohim of hosts; cause thy face to shine, and we shall be saved.

Arată-Te*Exod 25:20,22.1 Sam. 4:4.2 Sam. 6:2.Ps. 99:1. în strălucirea*Deut. 33:2.Ps. 50:2;94:1. Ta, Tu, care șezi pe heruvimi!

2 Trezește-Ți puterea, înaintea*Num. 2:18-23. lui Efraim, Beniamin și Manase,

și vino în ajutorul nostru!

3 Ridică-ne*Vers. 7,19.Plâng. 5:21., Dumnezeule,

fă*Num. 6:25.Ps. 4:6;67:1. să strălucească Fața Ta și vom fi scăpați!

4 Doamne, Dumnezeul oștirilor,

până când Te vei mânia, cu toată rugăciunea poporului Tău?

5 Îi hrănești*Ps. 42:3;102:9.Is. 30:20. cu o pâine de lacrimi

și-i adăpi cu lacrimi din plin.

6 Ne faci*Ps. 44:13;79:4. să fim mărul de ceartă al vecinilor noștri

și vrăjmașii noștri râd de noi între ei.

7 Ridică-ne*Vers. 3,19., Dumnezeul oștirilor!

Fă să strălucească Fața Ta și vom fi scăpați!

8 Tu ai adus o*Is. 5:1,7.Ier. 2:21.Ezec. 15:6;17:6;19:10. vie din Egipt,

ai izgonit*Ps. 44:2;78:55. neamuri și ai sădit-o.

9 Ai făcut*Exod 23:28.Ios. 24:12. loc înaintea ei:

și ea a dat rădăcini și a umplut țara.

10 Munții erau acoperiți de umbra ei

și ramurile ei erau ca niște cedri ai lui Dumnezeu.

11 Își întindea mlădițele până la mare

și lăstarii până*Ps. 72:8. la râu.

12 Pentru ce i-ai*Ps. 89:40,41.Is. 5:5.Naum 2:2. rupt gardul acum

de-o jefuiesc toți trecătorii?

13 O râmă mistrețul din pădure

și o mănâncă fiarele câmpului.

14 Dumnezeul oștirilor, întoarce-Te iarăși!

Privește*Is. 63:15. din cer și vezi! Cercetează via aceasta!

15 Ocrotește ce a sădit dreapta Ta

și pe fiul pe care Ți*Is. 49:5. l-ai ales!…

16 Ea este arsă de foc, este tăiată!

De*Ps. 39:11;76:7. mustrarea Feței Tale, ei pier!

17 Mâna Ta să fie*Ps. 89:21. peste omul dreptei Tale,

peste fiul omului pe care Ți l-ai ales!

18 Și atunci nu ne vom mai depărta de Tine.

Înviorează-ne iarăși și vom chema Numele Tău!

19 Doamne, Dumnezeul oștirilor, ridică-ne*Vers. 3,7. iarăși!

Fă să strălucească Fața Ta și vom fi scăpați!
