1 Bless Jehovah, O my soul! Jehovah my God*GodHebrew: Elohim thou art very great; thou art clothed with majesty and splendour; 2 Covering thyself with light as with a garment, stretching out the heavens like a tent-curtain; — 3 Who layeth the beams of his upper chambers in the waters, who maketh clouds his chariot, who walketh upon the wings of the wind; 4 Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flame of fire. 5 He laid the earth upon its foundations: it shall not be removed for ever. 6 Thou hadst covered it with the deep, as with a vesture; the waters stood above the mountains: 7 At thy rebuke they fled, at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away; — 8 The mountains rose, the valleys sank, unto the place which thou hadst founded for them; — 9 Thou hast set a bound which they may not pass over, that they turn not again to cover the earth.

10 He sendeth the springs into the valleys: they run among the mountains; 11 They give drink to every beast of the field; the wild asses quench their thirst. 12 The birds of heaven dwell by them; they give forth their voice from among the branches. 13 He watereth the mountains from his upper-chambers: the earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy works. 14 He maketh the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man; bringing forth bread out of the earth, 15 And wine which gladdeneth the heart of man; making his face shine with oil; and with bread he strengtheneth man’s heart. 16 The trees of Jehovah are satisfied, the cedars of Lebanon, which he hath planted, 17 Where the birds make their nests; as for the stork, the fir trees are her house. 18 The high mountains are for the wild goats; the cliffs, a refuge for the rock-badgers.

19 He made the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth its going down. 20 Thou makest darkness, and it is night, wherein all the beasts of the forest creep forth: 21 The young lions roar after the prey, and to seek their food from ·God*GodHebrew: El22 The sun ariseth, they retreat, and lay them down in their dens. 23 Man goeth forth unto his work, and to his labour until the evening. 24 How manifold are thy works, O Jehovah! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches. 25 Yonder is the great and wide sea: therein are moving things innumerable, living creatures small and great. 26 There go the ships; there that leviathan, which thou hast formed to play therein. 27 These all look unto thee, that thou mayest give their food in its season: 28 That thou givest unto them, they gather; thou openest thy hand, they are filled with good. 29 Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled; thou takest away their breath, they expire and return to their dust. 30 Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created, and thou renewest the face of the earth.

31 The glory of Jehovah will endure for ever; Jehovah will rejoice in his works. 32 He looketh on the earth, and it trembleth; he toucheth the mountains, and they smoke. 33 I will sing unto Jehovah as long as I live; I will sing psalms to my God*GodHebrew: Elohim while I have my being. 34 My meditation shall be pleasant unto him; I will rejoice in Jehovah. 35 Sinners shall be consumed out of the earth, and the wicked shall be no more. 3 Cu*Amos 9:6. apele Îți întocmești vârful locuinței Tale;

din*Is. 19:1. nori Îți faci carul

și*Ps. 18:10. umbli pe aripile vântului.

4 Din vânturi Îți faci*Evr. 1:7. soli

și din flăcări*2 Împ. 2:11;6:17. de foc, slujitori.

5 Tu ai așezat*Iov 26:7;38:4,6.Ps. 24:2;136:6.Ecl. 1:4. pământul pe temeliile lui

și niciodată nu se va clătina.

6 Tu îl acoperiseși cu*Gen. 7:19. adâncul cum l-ai acoperi cu o haină;

apele stăteau pe munți,

7 dar, la amenințarea Ta, au fugit*Gen. 8:1.,

la glasul tunetului Tău, au luat-o la fugă,

8 suindu-se pe munți*Gen. 8:5. și coborându-se în văi,

până la locul*Iov 38:10,11. pe care li-l hotărâseși Tu.

9 Le-ai pus o margine*Iov 26:10.Ps. 33:7.Ier. 5:22. pe care nu trebuie s-o treacă,

pentru ca să*Gen. 9:11,15. nu se mai întoarcă să acopere pământul.

10 Tu faci să țâșnească izvoarele în văi

și ele curg printre munți.

11 Tu adăpi la ele toate fiarele câmpului;

în ele își potolesc setea măgarii sălbatici.

12 Păsările cerului locuiesc pe marginile lor

și fac să le răsune glasul printre ramuri.

13 Din locașul Tău cel înalt Tu*Ps. 147:8. uzi munții

și se satură*Ps. 65:9,10. pământul de rodul*Ier. 10:13;14:22. lucrărilor Tale.

14 Tu*Gen. 1:29,30;3:18;9:3.Ps. 147:8. faci să crească iarba pentru vite

și verdețuri pentru nevoile omului,

ca pământul să dea hrană*Iov 28:5.Ps. 136:25;147:9.:

15 vin*Jud. 9:13.Ps. 23:5.Prov. 31:6,7., care înveselește inima omului,

untdelemn, care-i înfrumusețează fața,

și pâine, care-i întărește inima.

16 Se udă copacii Domnului,

cedrii din Liban, pe care*Num. 24:6. i-a sădit El.

17 În ei își fac păsările cuiburi,

iar cocostârcul își are locuința în chiparoși;

18 munții cei înalți sunt pentru țapii sălbatici,

iar stâncile sunt adăpost pentru iepuri*Prov. 30:26..

19 El a făcut*Gen. 1:14. luna ca să arate vremurile;

soarele știe*Iov 38:12. când trebuie să apună.

20 Tu aduci*Is. 45:7. întunericul și se face noapte:

atunci toate fiarele pădurilor se pun în mișcare,

21 puii*Iov 38:39.Ioel 1:20. de lei mugesc după pradă

și își cer hrana de la Dumnezeu.

22 Când răsare soarele, ele fug înapoi

și se culcă în vizuinile lor.

23 Dar omul iese la lucrul*Gen. 3:19. său

și la munca lui până seara.

24 Cât*Prov. 3:19. de multe sunt lucrările Tale, Doamne!

Tu pe toate le-ai făcut cu înțelepciune

și pământul este plin de făpturile Tale.

25 Iată marea cea întinsă și mare:

în ea se mișcă nenumărate viețuitoare

mici și mari.

26 Acolo, pe ea, umblă corăbiile

și în ea este leviatanul*Iov 41:1. acela pe care l-ai făcut să se joace în valurile ei.

27 Toate*Ps. 136:25;145:15;147:9. aceste viețuitoare Te așteaptă,

ca să le dai hrana la vreme.

28 Le-o dai Tu, ele o primesc;

Îți deschizi Tu mâna, ele se satură de bunătățile Tale.

29 Îți ascunzi Tu Fața, ele tremură;

le iei*Iov 34:14,15.Ps. 146:4.Ecl. 12:7. Tu suflarea, ele mor

și se întorc în țărâna lor.

30 Îți trimiți*Is. 32:15.Ezec. 37:9. Tu suflarea: ele sunt zidite

și înnoiești astfel fața pământului.

31 În veci să țină slava Domnului!

Să Se*Gen. 1:31. bucure Domnul de lucrările Lui!

32 El privește pământul, și pământul se*Hab. 3:10. cutremură;

atinge*Ps. 144:5. munții, și ei fumegă.

33 Voi*Ps. 63:4;146:2. cânta Domnului cât voi trăi,

voi lăuda pe Dumnezeul meu cât voi fi.

34 Fie plăcute Lui cuvintele mele!

Mă bucur de Domnul.

35 Să piară*Ps. 37:38.Prov. 2:22. păcătoșii de pe pământ

și cei răi să nu mai fie!
