A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son.

1 Jehovah, how many are they that trouble me, many they that rise up against me! 2 Many say of my soul, There is no salvation for him in God*GodHebrew: Elohim Selah. 3 But thou, Jehovah, art a shield about me; my glory, and the lifter up of my head.

4 With my voice will I call to Jehovah, and he will answer me from the hill of his holiness. Selah. 5 I laid me down and slept; I awaked, for Jehovah sustaineth me. 6 I will not fear for myriads of the people that have set themselves against me round about. 7 Arise, Jehovah; save me, my God*GodHebrew: Elohim For thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheekbone, thou hast broken the teeth of the wicked. 8 Salvation is of Jehovah; thy blessing is upon thy people. 1 Doamne, ce*2 Sam. 15:16-18. mulți sunt vrăjmașii mei!

Ce mulțime se scoală împotriva mea!

2 Cât de mulți zic despre mine:

„Nu mai este scăpare pentru*2 Sam. 16:8.Ps. 71:11. el la Dumnezeu!" (Oprire)

3 Dar Tu, Doamne, Tu ești scutul*Gen. 15:1.Ps. 28:8;119:114. meu,

Tu ești slava mea și Tu îmi înalți*Ps. 27:6. capul!

4 Eu strig cu glasul meu către Domnul

și El îmi răspunde*Ps. 34:4. din muntele*Ps. 2:6;43:3;99:9. Lui cel sfânt. (Oprire)

5 Mă culc*Lev. 26:6.Ps. 4:8.Prov. 3:24., adorm

și mă deștept iarăși, căci Domnul este sprijinul meu.

6 Nu mă tem*Ps. 27:3. de zecile de mii de popoare

care mă împresoară din toate părțile.

7 Scoală-Te, Doamne! Scapă-mă, Dumnezeule!

Căci Tu bați*Iov 16:10;29:17.Ps. 58:6.Plâng. 3:30. peste obraz pe toți vrăjmașii mei

și zdrobești dinții celor răi.

8 La Domnul*Prov. 21:31.Is. 43:11.Ier. 3:23.Osea 13:4.Iona 2:9.Apoc. 7:10;19:1. este scăparea:

binecuvântarea Ta să fie peste poporul Tău. (Oprire)
