A Psalm of Asaph.

1 O God*GodHebrew: Elohim the nations are come into thine inheritance: thy holy temple have they defiled; they have laid Jerusalem in heaps. 2 The dead bodies of thy servants have they given to be meat unto the fowl of the heavens, the flesh of thy saints unto the beasts of the earth: 3 Their blood have they shed like water round about Jerusalem, and there was none to bury them. 4 We are become a reproach to our neighbours, a mockery and a derision to them that are round about us. 5 How long, O Jehovah? wilt thou be angry for ever? Shall thy jealousy burn like fire?

6 Pour out thy fury upon the nations that have not known thee, and upon the kingdoms that call not upon thy name: 7 For they have devoured Jacob, and laid waste his habitation. 8 Remember not against us the iniquities of our forefathers; let thy tender mercies speedily come to meet us: for we are brought very low. 9 Help us, O God*GodHebrew: Elohim of our salvation, because of the glory of thy name; and deliver us, and forgive our sins, for thy name’s sake. 10 Wherefore should the nations say, Where is their God*GodHebrew: Elohim Let the avenging of the blood of thy servants that is shed be known among the nations in our sight. 11 Let the groaning of the prisoner come before thee; according to the greatness of thine arm, preserve those that are appointed to die; 12 And render unto our neighbours, sevenfold into their bosom, their reproach, wherewith they have reproached thee, O Lord. 13 And we, thy people and the sheep of thy pasture, will give thanks unto thee for ever; we will shew forth thy praise from generation to generation.

au pângărit Templul Tău cel sfânt*Ps. 74:7.

și au*2 Împ. 24:9,10.2 Cron. 36:19.Mica 3:12. prefăcut Ierusalimul într-un morman de pietre.

2 Trupurile*Ier. 7:33;16:4;34:20. neînsuflețite ale robilor Tăi le-au dat să le mănânce păsările cerului,

și carnea credincioșilor Tăi au dat-o s-o mănânce fiarele pământului.

3 Ca apa le-au vărsat sângele, de jur împrejurul Ierusalimului,

și*Ps. 141:7.Ier. 14:16;16:4.Apoc. 11:9. n-a fost nimeni să-i îngroape.

4 Am ajuns de*Ps. 44:13;80:6. ocara vecinilor noștri,

de batjocura și de râsul celor ce ne înconjoară.

5 Până*Ps. 74:1,9,10;85:5;89:46. când, Doamne, Te vei mânia fără încetare

și va*Ţef. 1:18;3:8. arde mânia Ta ca focul?

6 Varsă-Ți*Ier. 10:25.Apoc. 16:1. mânia peste neamurile care nu*Is. 45:4,5.2 Tes. 1:8. Te cunosc

și peste împărățiile care nu cheamă*Ps. 53:4. Numele Tău!

7 Căci au mâncat pe Iacov

și i-au pustiit locuința.

8 Nu-Ți*Is. 64:9. mai aduce aminte de nelegiuirile strămoșilor noștri,

ci să ne iasă degrabă înainte îndurările Tale,

căci suntem nenorociți*Deut. 28:43.Ps. 142:6. de tot!

9 Ajută-ne*2 Cron. 14:11., Dumnezeul mântuirii noastre, pentru slava Numelui Tău!

Izbăvește-ne și iartă-ne păcatele, pentru Numele*Ier. 14:7,21. Tău!

10 Pentru ce*Ps. 42:10;115:2. să zică neamurile: „Unde este Dumnezeul lor?"

Să se știe înaintea ochilor noștri, printre neamuri,

că Tu răzbuni sângele vărsat al robilor Tăi!

11 Să ajungă*Ps. 102:20. până la Tine gemetele prinșilor de război!

Scapă, prin brațul Tău cel puternic, pe cei ce pier!

12 Întoarce vecinilor noștri de*Gen. 4:15.Is. 65:6,7.Ier. 32:18.Luca 6:38. șapte ori în sânul lor

batjocurile*Ps. 74:18,22. care Ți le-au aruncat ei Ție, Doamne!

13 Și*Ps. 74:1;95:7;100:3. noi, poporul Tău, turma pășunii Tale,

Te vom lăuda în veci

și vom*Is. 43:21. vesti din neam în neam laudele Tale.
